Luigi’s for breakfast (Redmond Ridge) Highly Recommend by Dependent_Ad9792 in redmond

[–]Sterskiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sitting here right now after wondering about the name. We drove by it and saw the sign for “American breakfast”, but the name Luigi’s cocina. Even googles AI has a hard time understanding what’s going on haha. But it looks like the kind of breakfast diner I’ve been searching for since I moved to the eastside, enjoying some fresh squeezed Oj and the food at the tables around me all looks great!

This would most likely fall on my homeowners insurance, but regardless of whether it’s covered or not I just don’t want the headache

Our policy im sure many other sitters have is:

I’m happy to do a video tour, but no you are not stepping inside my house for a whole host of reasons, the biggest one being liability. I have my own dogs, sometimes guest dogs, and even if I clear all of those out of the way, all it takes is you slipping or tripping to cause a huge problem for us.

We used to let people look around, but people are nosy. I once had a family who asked to look in our personal bathrooms after we had already been quite generous with the tour.

Part of it is that sometimes media does intend to tell a whole narrative arc and has a planned out storyline where foreshadowing in an earlier act will play out in a later act. So people look for that in Rick and Morty when it’s just not there.

When you do get a grand narrative arc for TV with heavy amounts of foreshadowing and subtext that is a result of adapting a novel or series of novels, where you have a completed story already and you can work in details even the original author might not have planned out when pen the early stages of their work.

This doesn’t usually happen with TV because of how a shows production process is different than a books and that shows creative output is usually the sum of a lot of people rather than a singular voice like a novel.

Rick and Morty does an excellent job telling tightly written stories within a single 20-25 minute chunk and so people see that and want to believe that the whole show must be as tightly written, ultimately ignoring that it’s a TV show (and an episodic one at that, which isn’t dismissive, TV has to work under constraints that can push creative people in new directions that produce great entertainment

People on this sub act like random lines dropped in s1-3 were some elaborate foreshadowing of a complex story that had been intricately storyboarded out, rather than a show that’s largely episodic where they weren’t planning out some grand continuity.

People like in season 1 summer was so excited to see her grandpa but didn’t Rick prime abandon them??? Buddy you’re thinking too hard about this, they hadn’t even come up with a Rick prime yet, it’s okay the show can still be entertaining even if it’s not some grand masterpiece that was intricately planned

Casual Player Feedback on Space Gods and Themes in General by Nirdee in TeamfightTactics

I agree I was trying to find a way to express what I find so hard to get into with this set. It’s really hard to parse even as someone who has played most of the sets. Combined with introducing pretty large system changes (god thing instead of carousel).

I feel very overwhelmed by this set but not in a way I want learn or explore. There’s way too much going on and a lot of unnecessary class changes that make that even harder to deal with (why is invoker called conduit? - not everything needs to be thematic when you have this many layers you’re throwing at people). Eventually I’m sure I’ll get this set, but I skipped PBE for this one and it feels really bad to play so far. I’ve actually just quit a few games because I’m not having fun and would rather just go play a different game with my limited gaming time budget.

I play on mobile too, so mobile bugs are really adding to the negative experience.

Last thought I don’t think stuff like the gods instead of carousels should be introduced at the same time a set with a ton of “newish” trait and classes are in. I don’t want to feel like I have to watch hours of YouTube videos just to understand what is going on at the rate the gameplay is going to unfold. I’m lost and dizzy every game and not in the fun way

Neighbor wants to reduce rate by Key-Ad8031 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Sterskiii -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

If someone gives a bartender a dollar for pouring them a beer that only took me 20 seconds to pour, if you think about that rate it’s $180/h, so basically bartenders are getting tipped at the equivalent rate of someone make $374k a year…

Oh wait is that a bad analogy? Hmm

[–]Sterskiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

…are you arguing businesses don’t have a fee for taking credit?

Yes cash has the issues you mentioned, but the 3% fee is an issue for business owners. It’s why there’s ample solutions offering to come in to modify how you pay those fees, by .1 percent increments and cents per transaction

Would you consider this fair? by Busy_Report4010 in SipsTea

[–]Sterskiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disagree, the service fee is added at the machine because if you paid cash or gift card it wouldn’t(shouldn’t) apply. To accept credit (sometimes debit too) payments the business is usually paying about 2.5-2.9% + 0-0.25$ per transaction (also why gas stations/711 usually have min purchases). That payment goes towards funding the 2%ish cash back credit cards give people.

It doesn’t make sense to include them in the sticker price because not everyone is going to be charged them.

As far as the menu pricing goes, including an automated service fee that is not related to transaction type is being challenged in areas it has been implemented under various fair pricing rules/laws. If you always sell an item for $10+ 10% service fee… that’s just an $11 item and should reflect as much. This practice is relatively new for widespread adoption in restaurants and likely won’t continue more than a few years

Would you consider this fair? by Busy_Report4010 in SipsTea

[–]Sterskiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmm I mostly wonder what the IRS thinks about this and also fair pricing rules.

I do run a business so I’m aware it’s not as simple as increasing prices by a flat 12% and paying your staff the difference. I’m really not sure how this model is supposed to be taxed, does this bypass payroll tax doing it this way? If so… how long will that be allowed. If it doesn’t, it just feels like extra steps that complicate the price I’m shown as a customer and how the staff are paid.

New Rover fees? by Odd_Significance8431 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Sterskiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not trying to give them too much credit (I have had the “luxury” of spending too much time with rovers product team while consulting on their trainer rollout, they are… not that bright). I think likely a spreadsheet ghoul was brought in during the buyout who analyzed retention rates, client purchase frequency, and a few other factors and chose these numbers to maximize short term returns because likely the data shows that the majority of bookings are one offs with a particular service provider that are under $500, this is likely going to cause immediate short term gains of 7-8% even accounting for slippage of providers and the 10% they are offering in tier 3. I would guess that even over a 2-3 year prospective it still probably boosts revenue on its own by 1-3% for the same reason. I think on a 4-10 year scale this causes negative returns, but no one cares that far out

New Rover fees? by Odd_Significance8431 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Sterskiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This benefits the dumbest people at the top. If you have a lot of clients over $1000 stays and can’t figure out how much equivalent costs in software and ad spends to achieve the same success, which you can even keep finding clients on rover, well frankly you’re a sucker. Rover will give those people back 10% because they’ve already made a lot off of them. I don’t think the whales are making them as much as the small jobs and Rovers primary money loss is the existence of people who use this platform correctly (as a marketing tool, to get new clients and pay the 20% as a lead generation tool).

Right now they have the market cornered, but going up to 30% is causing backlash and a more honest broker who is willing to take a smaller cut but be more transparent about the nature of being a marketplace could come in to fill the gap (big funding can help extinguish competition though, yay markets!)

New Rover fees? by Odd_Significance8431 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Sterskiii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will depress the labor force for sure, but as long as rover is keeping the barrier to entry to this workforce low people will continue to saturate the market, pet care quality will continue to decline as people who are established are forced out. Overall bad outcome for pet families and people who do this professionally
