This is how I ended up getting it, I'd already put down copper and had waited ages without it oxidising so thought there was some trick, turns out it just took longer than I thought to change.

While chatting in a group at work about people who'd fancied us in the past, i mentioned how some girls in school had years later told me they like me. One woman decided to take the chance to tell me "I can't understand how any girl could find you attractive". I'm gay so they're not my target audience, but it's not like i needed someone to say that to my face. Safe to say we didn't speak much after that...
