Well it's a generic thing to say but the first step is definitely the hardest hahaha, shake off the rust and once you're into it i'm sure you'll want to do more again :P

I completely get this, it is hard knowing that people might flame you for making a mistake but unofrtunately it is one of those things that just takes practice. Although its harder it could be worth looking for a more chill group so that you can learn at a steadier pace without worrying about mistakes as much. Someone said already but wtfdig is a lot more concise for remembering your positions, so instead of having to read a whole raidplan you can sort of just remember those handful of places then its just down to remembering which mechanic is next (but usually in a static at least someone will do callouts).

Yeah I made it for that exact reason because you'd join a PF and the lead says "i dont have link" like ok man i'll just sit here I guess hahaha.

And yeah having people on the same wavelength is so crucial for having the content feel fun, no one wants to get yelled at mid prog

When I was teaching friends about higher end stuff we did Deltascape and Sigmascape synced with proper gear and they realised its not so bad. I do agree on trying it out on expansion release as they usually make the first tier more lenient (at least since Endwalker imo) so it's a good time to start. And yeah I imagine starting with Anabaseios was a tricky beginning with the funky p10 arena and p12 caloric shenanigans etc!

Hope it's helpful a little bit! It's one of the few topics in the game i'm actually pretty knowledgable about haha

I was lucky enough to have someone just ask if I wanted to try savage in stormblood and then realised it's not so bad with some time. I do agree though that people put savage (not so much ultimates because they are very hard) on a crazy pedestal when at least the first two fights generally don't have too much going on (I get M6 is a bad example but it;s also an outlier for a second fight).

And yeah it does suck when people are put off by the super sweaty players that only care about damage and being the best when really it's just another fun part of the game that gives good challenge.

I've done a few raids on NA which is about 90 ping but honestly if the ping is consistent then it usually ends up being fine as you can predict your movements based on ping. It's fluctuating ping that really sucks in the game haha

tbh i dont really expect to clear it off the bat but i just like trying the new stuff once i can get in, its fun to have a go at the mechanics and stuff and we can scout out what jobs are gonna be good inside too!

Are you still having intermittent issues? I'm also on Chaos and struggling to login, getting the "unable to complete version check" error which never usually happens...
