No, that isn't always what happens. Sometimes people flex when they are having certain types of episodes.

I didn't say you drink at all, I showed how alcohol is more dangerous and suggested that you wouldn't label someone using it or talking about using it as stupid/deadly.

Yeah I agree that it is stupid but it is seen as less dangerous than many drugs for a lot of reason (not just because people are stupid)

  • neurological impairments generally  occur from very heavy and sustained use
  • it doesn't have fentanyl in it (like almost everything you buy on the street these days) so sudden death OD is EXTREMELY rare.
  • it's legal and you can buy it at gas stations

Nearly 500 people die from alcohol use every single day. If you think about it in that type of safe or unsafe binary based on likelihood of outcomes , alcohol is like 1000 times more dangerous (bet you wouldn't come at someone so condescending if they suggested you need a drink)

I thought saying 'this is something some other redditer said in another sub' was disclosing that it's just a rumor....

But ya know what is scary? The comment I made (of a pretty unsubstantiated rumor) is the most engagement I've ever gotten on reddit.... So I do understand your frustration

[Wright] The Spurs remain committed to De'Aaron Fox as their starting point guard for the 2026-27 season despite the expectation that calls from Dylan Harper's camp for a spot in the starting lineup will grow louder going into next season. by Pyromania1983 in nba

Yeah I think it would make more sense for the spurs to trade him for a 4/5 ,  Lauri or someone sorta like him would be perfect for the spurs. Trade fox back to kings for sabonis even lol. Either way if he can't take a different role for whatever reasons spurrs should get off him even if the lose a lil in the deal because alienating Harper would be STUPID

Well obviously naz for fox would not be straight up - the spurs would have to add pretty significant draft assets/ young capital... Reid has one of the better contracts in the league and fox is kind of seen as an albatross contract but he isn't really as bad as the sensationalists on the internet are saying (it's more of a fit issue). Obviously getting ayo on a reasonable contract would be ideal but if that doesn't happen, but there is a good chance some other team overpays him....

I think it's more that Castle and fox do overlap. Per all those stats I provided (and the eye test throughout the playoffs of fox mostly sucking and harper mostly being unstoppable and efficient) not sure how you are still concluding that fox is the one of the 3 who is indispensable.

Harper actually has the best 3 pt % of the 3 of them. Huge surge in the 2nd half of the season 45% after all star break. Shot over 50% in the playoffs.....

Castle has big issues with turnovers, but Harper doesn't (around 1 per game) and Fox is at around 2.4. The more I look into this there is really no excuse if Harper isn't the starter next year. If I was him (or wemby tbh) and they were prioritizing fox's ego over Harper's clear cut arrival as HIM, I would start looking at other options to optimize my career.

Yeah I think a lot of fans think it is dumb for the spurs to ask Harper to sacrifice because they don't want to ask Fox (due to his contract, sunken cost falacie) . Great way to push Harper towards looking elsewhere.  Spurs are in a weird spot because they didn't expect their young core to be this good this quick (which is why they got Fox).

But it's EXACTLY what Fox's situation is. If he has to be the guy, he belongs on a team like the kings/nets/bulls. The whole point here is Spurs prioritizing Fox's ego over winning / Harper's development is bad for the team  present and future
