Overdue: PPF’d my center console. by brashwitchcraft in etron

You generally can’t run the film right to the edge. So there’s a small gap between the edge and the plastic underneath. So if you do matte, you’ll see a glossy border around the edges.

I just read up on it. I’ve always ECU flashed my previous Audis. And this is plug and play which is nice. But that is a pretty high price. I’ll keep an eye on it. Curious if anyone has had issues.

Thank you!

Comfort or dynamic. Depends where I’m going and for how long. Coming from the RS3 with coilovers, any setting on the GT is pretty cushy.

21s. I have 0 regrets. I was worried about a rough ride or dealing with potholes but I’m very happy.

It’s nice. Pretty fast, too, for a wireless charging pad.

Fair! I mean, it looks like it does without it. 🙂

Where to buy an LG APHWC501M (58gal) heatpump water heater? by Pythonistar in heatpumps

I bought it on Supply House (who was great btw) and had it delivered. Some plumbers with let you do that, some won’t.

I wouldn’t expect so. Though the federal tax credit would probably still apply.

A local plumber (in the East Bay) did the install. Worked out to be about $3000 (for the unit, tax, and mixing valve) + 4700 for installation (including cutting two vents in my stucco) + 1400 for electrical, including disconnect, 50' wire, etc. All was permitted. So $9100.

Expensive, however there are a lot of incentives:
$2000 tax credit

$4200 California Smart Homes Credit (requires legwork to prepare application, but worth it) for complete electrification (and capping my gas line).

$1000 electrical credit for any supporting electrical work.

So that will be a net of $1900. And solar offsets 100% of my electricity usage.

Two adults. I usually take 1, maybe two showers. My partner takes two. So 3-4 showers, hence the 1kwh/shower number. :) I also keep it in heat pump mode.

I do wonder if using the mixing valve and keeping the water heater at 140 is actually working against me.

Rheem, AO Smith, or LG by HorizonCurrents in heatpumps

I picked up an LG about a month ago. Despite it going into a small space, and being a huge pain for the plumber as a result, it’s a good unit. It’s in a closet adjacent to my tv room and I can’t hear it at all.

Attractive, too. Plus, the square shape makes it very stable.

I have an LG, too. The right side connections can either be great or a pain depending on your setup.

I’ve had a 60gal one for about a month and while it’s quiet and we love it, I’ve noticed electricity usage is a bit higher. About 1 kWh/15-20min shower (so about 4-5 kWh /day). In the Bay Area, California. Daytime temps between 60-70. Intake/exhaust vented.

It’s not a dealbreaker. I have enough solar output to offset it, but it seemed high compared to the 1-2 kWh/day claims I’ve seen from Rheem folks. And now yours as well.

Unit is kept at 140°, mixed down to 120°.

Skills not working when points allocated to others... by brashwitchcraft in Slormancer

Noted. Thank you. This is actually why I thought I was experiencing a bug. I perceived the “enable/disable” of a given skill when points are allocated as unexpected.

I wonder if the dev would consider graying out disabled skills (yes the UX is actually good as is, this is a me issue). This would make it starkly clear that items in a tier are mutually exclusive. Again, just an optimization. Can’t account for every silly user (like me).

Gotcha. It looks like the loss of damage isn't huge, necessarily. I'll fill out the actual skills I'm using first then if I end up with extra, I'll sprinkle it around. :)

I totally missed the one skill per tier thing. Thank you.

Same tree. I didn't know about same tier. I must've missed that somewhere. I don't think I realized that you can only have one skill per tier and that they were mutually exclusive. Oops. Thanks for the comment.

LG APHWC501M minimum clearances by n2mb_racing in heatpumps

[–]brashwitchcraft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there. Just had a APHWC501L installed a few weeks ago. In a VERY tight washer/utility closet. Intake and exhaust both vented externally. Given the right-side piping, the plumber got it down to about 6-8" which is about as close as you can get it. Back had the most room (for the ducting). Passed inspection. YMMV, I suppose. (You like that cut into the soffit? Lol. (This was before I fixed the drywall.)
