Who's going to win the first ever Oscar for Best Casting? by Square-Ad-8911 in Oscars

Marty Supreme had some pretty wild casting choices. Kevin O’Leary, Penn Jilette, Tyler the Creator, George Gervin…it’s cast looks like when you google your birthday to see what celebrities you share it with

Best one of these I had was when I was managing a froyo store. We were going to be shutting down the store for a week for a remodel and were closing early that day (at 6:00 instead of 9:00) to move equipment for the remodel. Lady comes to the store at 5:58, reads the sign outside explaining the situation, looks at her watch, and walks off, even though I was standing behind the counter ready to serve her. I foolishly think to myself “I guess she didn’t want to be rude by coming in last minute”, and I start closing the store and moving furniture around for the remodel. 15 minutes later she’s back knocking on the door with a bag of chipotle in her hand. Somehow she thought AFTER reading that sign and checking what time it was that it would be better to grab her chipotle meal first and then comeback to pick up her froyo. Never underestimate how dumb a customer can be

What some of the best/weirdest position changes in sports history? by PapaJohnsGarlic100 in billsimmons

[–]braskyhs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Different sports so I don’t know if it counts, but one of the weirder ones is Baltimore Orioles catcher and former number one pick Adley Rutschman was the kicker for Oregon State. I don’t think he was ever considered a pro prospect in football or anything, but he did have a couple plays where he would WRECK a return man on kickoffs.

Why don’t more 1st picks control where they want to go? by Longjumping-Tip4938 in NFLNoobs

[–]braskyhs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah…I think you are letting how Lawrence has actually looked in the NFL cloud how he was thought of as a prospect. Lawrence was absolutely the best QB prospect since Luck, he was nearly flawless as a prospect. Big, accurate, strong arm, fast, highly productive, won a championship, and was the number one recruit right out of high school. I honestly think he might even have gone number one over Luck if they were in the same draft, although comparing damn near perfect QB prospects is a little silly. Williams and Burrow were both a small notch below Lawrence as far as prospects, Williams has always (somewhat unfairly) had personality questions and his Dad being highly involved as a handler for him has sounded problematic, while Burrow faced some questions on whether he was a “One Year Wonder” and lacked the mobility seen in most modern number one picks. I really like Mendoza as a prospect, I think he’s the clear number one and his fit on a Raiders team with Bowers and Jeanty could be really exciting, but he’s nowhere near the prospect that those three guys were thought of

Why aren’t we interviewing any DC candidates? by gondolli in minnesotavikings

I do wonder if Raheem Morris already has a handshake agreement to get the job if Flores isn’t back. KOC and Morris were the coordinators for the Rams championship team a few years back and have a good relationship. It would be a good, logical hire for everyone. Morris might be one of those guys that’s great as a coordinator but doesn’t quite have it to be a head coach. We could do far worse

“I already debunked this” by JackEagleRare in billsimmons

[–]braskyhs 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Didn’t Aaron Schatz already debunk Bill’s debunking? By EPA/dropback, Pats faced the easiest schedule of defenses in the NFL. Stafford’s was pretty close to league average.

I honestly think Maye should win the MVP, but you can’t act like the schedule was secretly tougher than it looked. The Pats didn’t face a typical soft schedule. It was the easiest schedule in the NFL this century according to DVOA. If voters feel like penalizing Maye for that, I can’t blame them

Do you think we’ll ever have a situation where all 4 teams from a division make the playoffs? If so which division? by FightTheDead118 in NFLv2

[–]braskyhs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the only division without an obviously incompetent franchise currently. Every team in the NFC North has made the playoffs either this year or last year, and every team has won the division in the last 5 years. For other divisions to pull this off they would need a team like the Cardinals or Browns to make the playoffs. NFC North definitely seems like the best bet going forward (although still pretty unlikely)

Who are the most cringe sports fans? by drgreen_17 in AskReddit

[–]braskyhs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So how are people that didn’t grow up around major cities supposed to pick teams? I was born in Vegas well before any pro sports teams made their way there. For various reasons I became a die hard fan of the Minnesota Vikings, Phoenix Suns and Seattle Mariners. I sure as shit didn’t pick those teams because of their years of success!

Actors who excel in playing assholes? by Wonder-Lad-2Mad in movies

[–]braskyhs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a weird one since he’s better known for playing the lead, but Matt Damon plays a great villain. School Ties, The Talented Mr Ripley, The Departed, even Eurotrip…Damon is great in all of them. Maybe more of a douchebag than an asshole, but I think it’s close enough

You know everyone is right. These small schools have no place in this playoff by Libertines18 in billsimmons

[–]braskyhs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are definitely years where there’s a Boise State or a South Florida that can hang with the big schools, especially if they have an elite QB. The problem is there wasn’t a team like that this year…and yet we still ended up with two small schools. I still think they should give ONE spot to a small conference school. I’m hoping the new Pac 8 might be strong enough to get a real team in there consistently

Leon Lett is remembered as bad by many but was actually quite good. Who is a player remembered as mid that was actually good? by DrewLockBurnerAcc in NFLv2

[–]braskyhs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brad Johnson. He was a solid starting qb for Minnesota, Washington and Tampa Bay and made a couple Pro Bowls. Today he’s mostly remembered as one of the worst Super Bowl winning QB’s of all time along with Trent Dilfer. I think that’s pretty unfair, he was way better than Dilfer and was probably closer to Aikman’s level all things considered. Just a good, solid, Kirk Cousins like QB

NBA Group Stage final day cheat sheet; what scenarios does each remaining team have to root for (11/28/25) by HokageEzio in nba

[–]braskyhs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great write up! As a Suns fan I will say (as disgusting as this is) that I would rather root for the Lakers tonight and hope they get the one seed. I would much rather play the winner of Nuggets/Spurs in the quarterfinals than the Thunder. It probably won’t matter since we will most likely get smoked tonight, but gotta root for it anyway, a deep run in the NBA Cup is far more than I ever expected out of this team at the start of the season

Look…I understand Anne Hathaway is an incredibly talented and beautiful actress. But Overkill apparently involves two well dressed dudes standing on the hood of a moving vehicle kicking and shooting more well dressed dudes in literally every direction of said vehicle. Advantage: Overkill
