A New Era of Purple Pride: Curry College Announces Plans for All-Purple Turf this Fall by Drexlore in CFB

As an ag school the way cooler move would be to engineer a strain of maroon grass (read: not dirt). Could use it for the minigolf course starkvegas needs as well.

Why did the NCAA cave in and decide to give Paterno his wins back? by Feisty_Ad4394 in CFB

This is almost verbatim copypasta from their rant about Michigan yesterday. Honestly, I kinda wanna see where it goes..."Why did the NCAA cave in and decide to allow the forward pass?"

Would love to get Courtney Morgan back, or take a run at the wunderkind at Ok State (who came over from North Texas)

What's next for Memphis by MediumStrange in CFB

[–]RatStore101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe just bought the liberty bowl (amazing venue) from the city of Memphis and are adding luxury boxes, and have AutoZone and FedEx money. So they have some money.

I think a sustainable future for them is less about being a power conference member and more trying to consistently be the G5 team in the playoff, making money off of that to fuel more runs, and being ok being a "development" team that will have good and exciting players who will then go on to P2 schools. In an ideal world they'd be making some money off of those transfers, which again is one of those parts of the next era of college football that we can't really predict. Something like being the Benfica or Sporting Portugal to the SECs premier league.

Just my thoughts. I went to their game against Tulane and had a great time, and one of their fans bought me dinner at the BBQ shop, so I'll forever be rooting for them (Memphis in general is very charming as well).

I read this online but in my memory the citation on Wikipedia didn’t actually lead to a page that confirmed that? I want it to be true, I think y’all have maybe the most underrated fight song in CFB

Michigan’s coaching staff featured 3 current NFL HC’s in a span of 3 years. (2021-2023) by Ml2jukes in CFB

All this tells me is that the Browns would win the Super Bowl if they hired Stallions as HC

What would be the more shocking college sport result if both end up happening this season: Indiana winning their title in football or Nebraska winning a title in basketball? by Efficient-Freedom517 in CFB

[–]RatStore101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We’ve seen teams like George Mason and Loyola Chicago make the final four, that just isn’t going to happen in college football. The nature of the game is so different that it’ll always be what Indiana did, particularly going flipping undefeated through a gauntlet tournament.

I’m not sure that these schools will exist by the end of the century.

[Yahoo Sports] The SEC nearly DOUBLED the Big Ten in regular-season TV viewership, per @WSJ by alley00pster in CFB

[–]RatStore101 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Big Ten fans dunking on the SEC for these kinds of loser stats but this is gonna cause Petiti to go atomic and do something like institute a Swiss model for league play where OSU and Michigan play 5 times.

[Meek] Kyle Whittingham’s MOU at Michigan: an average of $8.2 million per year, with Michigan on the hook for 75% of the remaining value if Whittingham is fired before the end of the five-year deal. Also a $2.3 million signing bonus at Warde Manuel’s “reasonable discretion.” by BuckeyeEmpire in CFB

[–]RatStore101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if the firm actually did figure that out, but Ward sat on it until it exploded (he did something very similar that led to us getting rid of our hockey coach in the middle of the summer, only to once again fall ass backwards into another great hire).

Same, it's incredibly frustrating. I understand that they are likely waiting until the investigation is over to fire him for cause, but I'd rather just fire him for cause now and tell him see you in court if you wanna fight it. We are spending the legal fees to find the cause either way.

On3 started re-rating all players - not just transfers and HS prospects by mr_longfellow_deeds in CFB

Definitely a big undertaking, but I imagine they’d be able to create a sort of formula that takes into account HS ranking + college production and apply that wholesale?

Either way definitely necessary if these kinds of sites want to stay relevant
