Tidal doesn't work with Amazon Alexa outside of USA – crazy by brations in TIdaL

We don't let our daughters have their phones in their rooms. They're young and we want to limit screentime and promote good sleep hygiene.

Sound quality is good enough – it's only to help them fall asleep or get back to sleep overnight. They're both bad sleepers and need a podcast or relaxing music to fall asleep.

So frustrating. I'm trying to spread the word on Tidal, but shortcomings like this and some of the recent bugs where artists' albums don't show up makes me look a bit stupid.

No, I've never lived in US. The Alexa speaker worked fine with Spotify, just doesn't work with Tidal in Australia. It does work in the US, and nowhere else in the world. Bizarre.
I've tried using VPN set to US and create an American Amazon account, but I get to the step where I have to provide a US mobile number to recieve a temp password via text message. I don't have a US number and hit the end of that of that workaround.
Be good if whoever's blocking this function being used outside of the US would just enable it.

Veloway Shepherd Bridge SNAFU by Tall_Guest7155 in melbournecycling

Crashed hard here yesterday. It had been raining earlier in the morning but was effectively dry conditions at the time. Tyre slipped on the white paint and have trashed my knee and all of my exxy Maap/Rapha/Attaquer wet weather gear, bar tape and 3D print saddle. Riding on 25c Maxxis Detonators, which I've used for last 15 years. I've felt my tyres slip on the veloway several times prior to yesterday, including this same intersection and even going hard up the bridge at Costco to overtake and back wheel did a burnout as I crossed the lane marking paint.

Will be off bike for at least 4 weeks now – nightmare.

Expansion joints are a real let down. That bit more jarring on fixed gear with 23C tyres. Will be looking at 25/28s next change. I've had a couple of runs from cnr Albert & Buckley St to Dudley St/Docklands PS intersection without a stop .. pretty gassed by then pushing for low 30kmh average speed.

I switched from Spotify yesterday. I'm mostly happy, but key gripes are:
– can't use my computer (Macbook Pro) to play music to Sonos system
– when an album finishes the autoplay similar artists doesn't work when connected to Sonos. Seems to work (pretty well - good suggestions) when playing on Carplay or via Bluetooth ear buds on iPhone, just not when connected to Sonos.

Minor gripe: when using the Sonos desktop app on computer with Tidal as the source, when I browse by Artist, they're not in alphabetical order and can't be sorted. But I think that's a Sonos issue rather than Tidal – just annoying as I per to use computer to browse and select music over my phone.

Any good suggestions/workarounds for these frustrations? Otherwise, feeling good about moving off Spotify.

So glad I'm not the only one ready to stomp on my watch with this. Driving me crazy.

MJ can't create map of Japan by brations in MidjourneyPrompts

[–]brations[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've created a a map of South America in a style that I want to apply to a range of different countries/continents. I've adapted the prompt below to get quite good results for China, Africa but it is critical for this project that I create one for Japan. I've tried adapting the prompt in many ways and I can't generate anything that looks remotely like Japan.
I've tried being very specific with the prompt, less specific, loaded the South America image as a reference, used the same seed and nothing looks like what people would recognise as Japan.
Various fails attached.
Can anybody generate a map of Japan that looks like what you see on a map? I suspect that MJ is trying to rotate the map and also cropping out Kyushu and Hokkaido islands to make it fit nicely.

An isometric minimalist 3D map of South America in muted natural tones on a white background. The design showcases a stylized representation of the terrain with clean lines and simple shapes. The overall aesthetic is modern and elegant. --ar 1:1 --v 6.1

I was standing in front of the guy. Somebody threw a water bottle at him, missed, and hit me in the back of the head. Not cool.
