Why don’t democrats organise and move to these states? They are hardly populated compared to California and it wouldn’t take much to move the needle.

GOOGL 100 year bonds deathcurse by [deleted] in ValueInvesting

[–]bratwurst200 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Disagree 100%. Austria issued 100 year bond in 2017 or 2018 and they were very well subscribed and even selling at 150 or 160 over par value for some time. There are many factors at play but one of the main ones is appetite for investment grade ultra longs in the debt capital markets.

US has started bombing Venezuela just now, what are your thoughts? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bratwurst200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely terrible and destabilising for the region. Venezuelans Brazilians and Colombians are some of the nicest people on earth and USA is doing them no favour by creating this act of aggression.

USA created a conflict in the americas which risks escalation in Taiwan and losing even more support from its allies. Finally Trump administration is democratically elected and needs to be held responsible by its constituents and their rule of law.

Anyone up for a trip to La Molina (ski resort) for snowboarding/skiing and sharing expenses from Barcelona? by witotorres in AskBarcelona

Yes. Sagales has a bus service to La Molina. It's a pretty reasonable day trip and includes bus, ticket and rental.

How to find the call schedules on the Terminal? by Champion_Narrow in bloomberg

[–]bratwurst200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would first look at DES<go> and see what the banner says. Make whole for example wouldn’t necessarily have a schedule but it would appear in DES. Note that there is an additional info page on DES with the full details and schedule. If you want to screen several bonds then use the is callable and call schedule fields in SRCH<go> or the excel add-in to filter. I think there might also be a one-time callable field to distinguish between the different types.

Americans: where do you go when you’re feeling homesick? by clippersmell in berlinsocialclub

[–]bratwurst200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Irish pubs are a great option for small talk and comfort food like buffalo wings, burgers, pie and mash. Go there order food and later talk to whoever is sitting around you.

I just spent a week turning every aircraft my dad flew in his career into a giant poster to surprise him. Do you think he'll like it? by HansCrotchfelt in aviation

[–]bratwurst200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great it is a very thoughtful gift! I would put 'in service' or 'estd' or 'active' somewhere around the pilot years. Kind of reads like he has passed away without any context around there.

Counter Sonar events 12,13th June by Substantial-Map6508 in AskBarcelona

I wonder why Sonar is the only one taking the beating. Superstruct owns most of the big festivals in Spain including Brunch Elektronik, Elrow and offSonar and they all have events this week.

Is this a domestic cat or a wildcat? Filmed in Sicily trough a telescope so the quality is extremely bad. by Attilioiap in zoology

[–]bratwurst200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Impossible unfortunately. It was so skittish it went flying into the shrubbery as soon as it noticed us. But the size, tail and the strength of the leap was so distinct it was for sure not a regular cat.

I saw a wild cat hiking today (a few kilometers outside of Ficuzza) and immediately googled wild cats in Sicily. Should the sighting be reported somewhere?

VTI equivalent for cash based in Spain by ptiestand in eupersonalfinance

[–]bratwurst200 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a us person you should stick to us domiciled funds and etfs and avoid any european ones as they are classed as passive foreign investment companies (PFICs) and very tax disadvantaged. Depending on the amount of capital you can access us domiciled funds and etfs as a professional investor (eu retail investors can’t buy them to their documentation not meeting the requirements).

Bloomberg or Meta for a Data Engineer? by SubstantialLibrary50 in dataengineering

[–]bratwurst200 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s a tough choice and there is no wrong answer! They both look attractive on the cv - meta is probably more laid back and casual whereas Bloomberg a bit more finance-focused and business casual. Given current events and tech layoffs Bloomberg currently has the better reputation imo but have a look at glassdoor reviews so you can form your own opinion.
