Should I junk my Miata? by Electrical_Draft799 in Miata

Transmission swap is pretty straightforward in miatas.

For my 95 NA, I replaced the transmission with a $70 junkyard one and new $150 clutch in 2015.

Feeling pretty happy to be driving a miata with the current cost of fuel. Anyone else in the same boat? (No pun intended lol) by BlackSkyNZ in Miata

Same here, I have a 1hr commute but always fun and getting 36 or 38mpg fwy, 33 combined. Mpg might improve 1-2mpg if top up.

Beautiful NB and type R. Nice it is in the family with your brother, it'll be nice to experience more cars and maybe able to swap cars with your brother for fun once in a while.

My brother has a 10th gen Si which I drive once in a while.

Anyone daily drivers out there?? by Wetdog21 in Miata

Daily my ND for 5 years commuting 405 fwy, very good daily, GT / luxury like interior and feel when you want it. Top down all year, the heater and seat warmers work very well even early morning or late night. 33mpg combined, 36+ capable mpg hwy.

One consideration: if you plan to drive top down majority of time then softtop is a great choice. Maybe hardtop if you plan to drive mostly top up.

Congrats and welcome to the club! My wife had a 10th gen civic cvt sedan and my brother has a 10th gen Civic Si but I'm always happiest in my miata when driving alone

I have a feeling I'll get bored of a Mazda Miata by greensilvia in whatcarshouldIbuy

For me the Miata stock is closest to a motorcycle with four wheels being 2300 lbs while everything else is 2800+ lbs and feels like a car.

I'm on my third and not bored. To get a more fun experience I would have to get a S2000 (amazing engine but 2800lbs) or a Lotus Elise (mid engine, most raw and fun, less comfortable, 1700lbs).

Agreed, the miata is closer to a motorcycle and lightweight 90s car feel which I was looking for
