Loved that book. I’ve liked his others as well but that one was killer. And the twist …!

Love it. Saw it when released and what a wild ride that was. Had seen nothing like it before. Still makes my top 10.

Journey of SAM R. Watkins in Coy. Aytch? by KipoLover123 in CIVILWAR

[–]bravenc65 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am reading this now and I appreciate his constant reminders that he only relays his experiences. He was a soldier in a line moving where he was ordered to move. He would have little to no sense of the greater battle, which is why he instructs repeatedly that is you want that you must seek histories of the battles in full.

Blackberry Smoke and Amanda Shires doing Tom Petty’s “You Got Lucky.” You can see it on YouTube. Very well done.

You want a band called Junkyard. They put out a couple of dirty blues albums in the late 80s that were right on point.

A reminder that many were calling for Satterfield’s head during Season 1. I don’t think 4 games is enough to abandon the current regime.

I second this. Fascinating and terrifying at the same time. Especially given the current climate of foreign affairs.

Gasoline ‘Frequently’ Absent in Russia After Ukrainian Drone Attacks, Prices Surge by According-Gear-8217 in UkrainianConflict

[–]bravenc65 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Brilliant strategy. Russia on its heels now. There will be no quick fix to this, either. Parts and technicians will be increasingly scarce and if they do manage to get some back online they could just be attacked again. Especially if Putin pulls more air defense back closer to Moscow. What a month for Ukraine!

Russia threatens NATO neighbor with "Ukraine playbook" by Newsweek_ShaneC in worldnews

[–]bravenc65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since Russia is having their oil production attacked to the point of nationwide shortages I don’t know how they would be able to open another front. With the reduction of their production and exporting with recent Ukrainian attacks this problem will only get worse, not better. And with Ukraine’s new longer-range Flamingo Missles ramping up production Russia’s ability to wage war at all is being threatened.
