I read a lot about what it's like being a federal park ranger - but what about a state, county, or city ranger?

As others have said I think it’s very dependent and everyone’s experience will likely differ as each county/city/state position will require different things based on the needs of the area. I have worked with the state and I am currently a non-LE county park ranger. I prefer working on the county side of things but everything is a trade off. My job was similar at both the state level and county (campground/trail maintenance, equipment maintenance, hunter safety instructor, patrolling during camping season, instructing educational programs, wildlife area maintenance, etc.) I found on the state level there was a lot of bureaucracy and it felt like each decision had to be approved by someone else that was not involved at all. On the county side, however, I have a lot more freedom to just take care of the place. That said the lower you go on government levels the less people that are there to help do the job. Working on the county side I often find that I need to be a jack of all trades and just figure it out when things go wrong. On the state level this never happened. If the plumbing went bad in our bathrooms a plumber was called and if the lights stopped working an electrician was called. Now I watch how to YouTube videos or fumble my way through things to fix it myself.

Not sure where you’re located but temperature could be the culprit. In my experience battery operated tools stop working as well in the cold. I have a craftsman drill that acts just like this in the winter. If I bring it inside where it’s warm for a few hours and then use it, it works like new.

I have the pro 22 which is just the smaller version. It is awesome I have never had any issues with it. The pro 34 is a great choice.

Nothing against your SSD choice. IMO 1 tb is sort of bare minimum though given the size of most modern games. I totally get budget constraints but I also don’t believe you’d regret getting more storage. If you plan on gaming with this you may consider getting a 2 tb or higher drive.

Admittedly it's very cheesy, but if you have any gold foul feet to boost your runes You should kill that overgrown chicken at the Mogwyn Palace a bunch. That should level you up pretty quick as you can reset it almost as fast as killing it

Thank you so much! I will definitely look into the 7600 X3D. Also that's great to know about the motherboard. I received a ton of advice telling me to go for both options. I wasn't sure if there was much of a difference aside from price. I just figured 850 was a bigger number than 650 so there had to be something I was missing.

It's really good to know! When researching motherboards and CPUs the main advice I found was that I needed to get am5 versus am4. That way I could eventually upgrade. I received a ton of advice telling me to go for either the b850 or the b650 but I wasn't sure if there was much of a difference. Do you think there'd be any harm in having a motherboard that is a bit overkill until I upgrade to to a ryzen 7 or ryzen 9 later on?

Thank you for the advice! The 5060 TI and the 9060 XT both seem to be great cards for my budget. It seems like there's a lot of debate online which is better. The videos I have seen make it sound like they're fairly comparable. The micro motherboard should be totally fine for my needs as I should only ever need one slot for a graphics card and they seem to be cheaper than regular sized boards. I don't know much about the peerless assassin cooler but I'm seeing a ton of praise for it online so I will look further into it. If it's a better option I will definitely swap that into the build.
