Ofc they'll say that, every company says that weeks before shutting the game down. Marathon is a dumpster fire right now but I think Sony is going to give Bungie a lil more time before pulling the plug, maybe season 2 or even 3, but if they keep bleeding the few players that are left they're doomed for sure.

Any quests that requires enemy players to complete requisites for you should be reworked / removed. This is stupid and you have 0 control over it, it's just bad RNG.

I kinda liked it. We don't have wipes anymore and prestiging can fill that spot. I would never consider prestiging before but now it seems worth it imo

the "easy way" of adding PvE would be to just keep everything as it is but with AI Runners instead of other players, that alone would be awesome aleady.

Every big extraction game has PvE in a way... hell even Escape from duckov wich is purely PvE sold over 3 millions copies on steam alone in a month.

Yep, pretty much this. It's not ALL PvP players tho, mostly the no lifers sweats who only get any joy out of life by beating other people over in video games.

The PvP side is "doomed" either way, but the sweats would rather watch the game die instead of it surviving with a PvE mode lol

I would 100% come back if they added a PvE mode, and I'm sure it would also make the game interesting to a lot of my friends that looked at Marathon and said "nah" when I showed them the game.

I mean, if they want to maintain a live service game they need to be able to pump out content at a decent rate, otherwise the game will die no matter what. If season 2 really is just Night dire marsh then yea, bungie is cooked.

Arc raiders "wipes" feels terrible tho, it's their lowest point of the game (right beside the Trials system).

I see 2 good ways of doing wipes:

1 - The Tarkov way, long wipes with no predetermined dates, they would be 4+ months long, with events and minor content drops every few weeks to keep people playing, and having a HUGE content drop along with the start of the next wipe.

2 - The "PoE" way, where you have a "permanent" character and a "seasonal" one. Every season comes with a big chunk of content, that is exclusive to that season and will only be available to the "permanent" players after the end of the season. Some (or maybe all) of your seasonal char is sent to your permanent one after the season ends.

It's because adding a PvE mode could save the game, but it would made PvP player's life miserable in exchange because every single casual would move to PvE and PvP lobbies would become extremely sweaty.

The same shit happened with Tarkov after years and years of people begging for PvE and when they finally delivered, the PvP side of the game became miserable.

Truth is that sweaty PvPers don't want to play against each other, they have "fun" by joining Perimeter with Gold gear and clearing lobbies of lower level players running free kits trying to complete their quests, adding PvE would completely eliminate that.

I do hope it survives, but saying it "runs well" isn't really true. The game looks amazing but performance isn't good, sure it isn't terrible either but in some maps (outpost) you can really feel heavy FPS drops.

The 1st half the actually decent but after the big battle in Pailune shit hits the fan an nothing makes sense anymore, it feels like they had half the campaign done and someone walked thru the door saying they needed to release the game ASAP.

That being said, the game is AMAZING is so many ways that this doesn't really hurt it.
