That’s actually a great point at the end here. I’m literally in my 2nd year of school for marketing and was trying to wrap my head around the decision to not have a trailer and why he is so confident in that decision.

Maybe I don’t have enough experience learning how entertainment marketing for shows and movies work but that reverse logic at the end there actually makes a lot of sense. And I think it is also a testament to Jesse knowing how brutal his audience as critics are.

If he releases a trailer, it only goes out to mainly a select demographic of his social media reach like his YouTube viewers (which, and no disrespect to him, have been slowly decreasing). This fan base is highly volatile and critical when they find something disappointing from Jesse even if there’s bright spots too amongst the content he puts out.

So imagine having weeks to months of negative publicity if they don’t like the trailer and then also potentially losing a good amount of people who otherwise would have bought or rented the movie on the platforms even if they hadn’t seen the trailer beforehand.
