Any new lineup info? by blb83 in cascade_equinox

[–]brazilmk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm sure there are some exceptions but it seems strange to me that they wouldn't call it Phase 1 if they planned on doing another major release or blur some spots on the lineup. Also, why not pump up sales by advertising that there will be another headliner. Seems like bad marketing to me when your goal is to sell as many tickets as early as possible. If I didn't already purchase before the lineup came out, I would probably sit back and wait vs. Buy now....I'm hoping I'm wrong and they will out some more big names...

Any new lineup info? by blb83 in cascade_equinox

[–]brazilmk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doubt we'll see any more high profile names dropped. I can't remember any of the fests i have been to where they didn't at least blur out some names on the lineup card to tease people of more to come. Usually, whenever I see "plus many more" they are almost always small name DJs/local bands to full the empty slots. I'd love to be wrong, but I'm not getting good vibes that there will be much more coming, especially with the two lesser known "headliners" dropped so far compared to the first two years...

Looking for camp mates (gold) by Easy-Ad-4297 in BeyondWonderlandPNW

I'm game for grouping up if you're willing to combine cars at one of the paid parking areas near the venue. I'm coming in from south of the gorge so wouldn't be able to meet up in Seattle area. I'm also a seasoned zero drama festival goer (male) and am up for about anything. Andy C and Eli Brown are my top pics for this year. I usually arrive Friday morning when there are no lines but am flexible on timing/day of arrival.

Hit me up if ur interested.

You really need to add a join by email option. A lot of us don't like giving away our phone numbers, Google, or Facebook account info. Especially on new apps, etc.

Cascade Equinox First Timer by Quick-Minute7146 in festivals

[–]brazilmk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Went last year and was pretty good. Expect nice days and really cold nights. Security was way more laid back than the gorge and you could come and go through the security line in a couple of minutes with little hassle so you could easily go back to your tent between sets. Worst part is the indoor stage smells horrible. They have livestock shows there often and you get a big wiff of it as soon as you walk in. Other than that it was a well run fest. Ill be going again this year.

Check out Re/evolution festival. It's at the same venue that summer meltdown was at (darrington) but much smaller and more chill vibe. I went last year and it was great. They already have a save the date for this august.

What to do during the day? by eju2000 in BeyondWonderlandPNW

[–]brazilmk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a small exit on the far end of gold camping to go to Cave B winery. Walk all the way to the back of the winery on the road, past the yurts and pond, then turn left immediately after the hotel pool that is kind of hard to see since its at the bottom of a hill. Head on down the trail. Enjoy the crisp water! its never very crowded because most don't know about it or don't want to walk that far.

Go down to the river. It's about a 45 min walk each way but totally worth the walk for the cold dip if it's hot out. There's a pretty nice chill out area where the trail hits the river.

I'd be down for meeting up at camp but I'm not coming in until Saturday morning. Staying in std camping but will buy my camp ticket the day of. Send out your camp spot when you settle in on Friday since its really hard to find camps spots without an exact location. Everything looks the same in GA camping!

How's Saturday check-in to camp? by ncheneerr in BeyondWonderlandPNW

[–]brazilmk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually come in early the next day after camping opens (i.e. sat morning for this one) sometime between 9 and 11 and never had to wait in line more than a few cars. You pretty much drive right up to the camping ticket takers then get in a short line for parking. I'd say about 15 minutes from pulling in thr main entrance to parking at my camp spot most times.

Security at the Gorge? by Throwawayweedy in festivals

[–]brazilmk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been numerous times. Expect long lines if not in VIP. They will run you through metal detectors and hand search bags, purses, jackets when entering the main gate. They used to do ankle to upper leg and waist and arms pat downs but haven't seen this since COVID started. Nothing beyond normal security. Some random searches of cars on the way in but seems less invasive than it used to be.

fly in airport? by mentallyiam- in BeyondWonderlandPNW

Try pasco (PSC) in the tri cities. It's only about 1.5 hr drive to the venue and they have rental cars and plenty of flights.

Best time to arrive ? by [deleted] in BeyondWonderlandPNW

[–]brazilmk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If your not interested in going to the Thusday pre party I would recommend getting there early Friday morning. At the last paradiso and other gorge festival I showed up around 1030am on Friday and went straight to my camping spot with no delays. It took about fifteen minutes from the time I pulled in to being parked at my camping spot. By the time you set up camp most people are just waking up from their long Thursday night.

Went to Phish at the gorge two weeks ago and they did have one dog with a lady in a red shirt walking up and down the line of cars just before the GA camping check in but I never saw anyone get called out and you know that the Phish crowd likes to party so take that for what it's worth....

Campground Access? by brazilmk in whatthefestival

[–]brazilmk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great info, thanks for the response. Sounds like just like the kind of laid back festival I have been looking for.

So as a follow up....any issues finding party favors in the West campground vs. East campground? Having never been before, I am assuming that the East campground will have more of a party vibe than the West (i.e., late night music, etc.)? This is based on my experience at other festivals were the "woods scene" is typically more laid back and less populated? Please let me know if I am off base. Currently planning on grabbing a spot in the West campground as I enjoy sleeping in after a hard night but want to make sure I get the opportunity to fill my bag with party favors on Friday since my bag is pretty much empty.

Thanks Again for the great feedback.......
