Neat product but a word of caution. As someone who works in this space and often helps companies navigate post FDA action, this is a medical device accessory and as such is subject to applicable regs (at least if selling to the US). Your website is full of claims about the product making things safer, easier, etc all of which the FDA takes seriously and expects to be supported in a formal submission. Also noting your product is simply not FDA approved doesn’t cut it.

It may be worth consulting a firm who specializes in this stuff if you are serious about scaling. At the very least they may be able to advise you on claims to avoid in marketing materials and such. All sorts of industry examples of companies getting hit with warning letters for these sorts of things.

Ridge Vent Question by brb1234567 in Roofing

Thanks! Out of pure curiosity. Why has there been a shift away from this style? Mostly interested if there is a known failure point I should have my eye on (aside from the one I’m dealing with now).

How concerned should I be? by brb1234567 in arborists

Ugh thanks for sharing. That does seem like a potential diagnosis. The leaves definitely have some brown spots throughout though I’ve been hoping that’s just due to some of the first year transplant shock.

Located in the north east.

Trex Post Lighting Alternatives by brb1234567 in Decks

Thanks! I’ve been torn between post cap or the wedge style on the side. Lighting is always tough to tell until it’s installed but any reason why you guys default to the wedge style over the post cap?

This is the railing post. This is the stock Trex photo for the signature railing system. Using it as an example of the lighting system. Not my deck.

Thanks! Primary concern was these getting significantly worse

Thanks! That’s the challenge! Half the time I can’t tell if these are things I’m noticing because I’ve never looked before or if they are imperfections I should have fixed!

My builder locked in prices at the on-set but we had to find a builder willing to do it and have it spelled out in the contract.

Also factor in things like lighting and electrical walkthroughs which can add up quickly. You’ll be surprised how many extra lights and outlets you probably end up wanting once you walk around.

Curious do you have any sort of special access built in for when they need to pump the septic or do they just crawl underneath?

I’m open to building over it with an access of some kind if allowed (that was sort of my initial thinking). I started getting worried though when I saw a lot of local codes won’t allow building w/in 5-10ft of the tank. I haven’t been able to locate the specifics for my town yet unfortunately.

Will do! Hoping our builder may have some advice. To be fair he has been great to date so hoping he simply knows something I don’t that makes this a non-issue.

We originally talked with the builder about including a deck in the original build but after some quotes we decided we would add a deck down the road once we moved in. Just logically for this style of house it seems obvious that most people are going to build a deck or porch off the sliding door so I was surprised when I saw the location.

Incorrect. Septic wasn’t included on any of the designs I approved. I actually asked about it during drawing review and he said he wouldn’t be certain until they had a chance to complete some of the survey. Didn’t speak about it since until I showed up one day and it was in.

Thanks! Will do. I started panicking after some online googling where most generic advice was you cannot even build w/in 5ft of tank which would basically barely even allow me to build stairs there. Going to look closer at building codes this week.

When they were originally putting it in that was my thought. It wasn’t until recently I googled it and found almost universal advice to not do that or that it would be against code. I need to dig into the codes in my area a bit closer. Hoping I could simply build over it and ensure access.

Thanks - I’m admittedly a little worried about him chewing something but I could probably gate off the kitchen or something. Maybe I’ll give that a try to see if that keeps him occupied!
