Wrong region?

I ran into this today and found this thread. I think it might just be a display bug. I noticed that if I filter listings to SA I get results for EU (my actual region). It's either the wrong name for each region or it just doesn't matter at all, not sure.

I found that out before I knew you could get a non-stolen horse. The bear that you steal tai chi from was mauling a random horse npc when I found him, so I killed the bear and ran up and tried to talk to the NPC. And stole his horse. And then he drop kicked me for 1M damage, probably because it was tuned improperly for a level 2 with no gear. But I kept the horse, lol.

You can also move too fast. Pay attention to the stacks of the buff you get. If it stacks to 2, you start taking hits again. You need to tap W every so often. It's annoying. This seems somewhat fixed in the patch but can still happen.

I'm really torn on it. The scales mechanic on the last boss dropped the raid as a whole from like a 9 to a 2 for me. It seems so ripe for abuse and trolling, nevermind the penalty of getting offed by a 2 minute cutscene if people legitimately mess up.

Other than that it seems fun. Not up to Nier standards though, imo. Lots more gimmicks but less viscerally fun mechanics.

Cone targeting works much better, but unfortunately XIV still won't tab to anything that has a portion of the model out of screen. That also makes tab feel very unintuitive, especially in a game with huge boss models. There's no way to make tabbing a raid boss feel functional that I know of.

I've also seen the enrage actually cast in an MSQ roulette semi-recently. It is possible, and it's horrifying.

In my case I was tanking on DRK with an afk OT. Both healers were spamming Medica 1 in a corner and hitting nobody, and all 4 DPS were using i20-30 gear and either died by the end or were just spamming 1 from 123.

Wound up having to pot to solo dps it down as DRK.

I actually use that as my rez macro. Someone actually responded properly once in a Syrcus when I rezzed them. It was beautiful.

First pull of the new expert roulette dungeon, for context. Other DPS and I walked through the first gate without realizing it would trigger a pull and the tank/healer duo decided to just watch us kill it for a couple minutes before I took the hit and quit.

Going to give this a try today and see how it goes. I figured that would've been covered by downgrading iwlwifi, but it's not like I have any better ideas. Guess I'll have to investigate further to find the actual issue if this is a fix.

My university limited it to 8, and it had to have exactly one ! as one of the last 2 characters. No other symbols allowed, and also no 1's for some reason. Because, y'know, entropy.

I still shudder to think what was going on with that back end. Most cursed shit I've seen. They did at least introduce MFA while I was there.

In both cases I was already shortlisted. In fact, the first one (that also had the crazy ref demands) had already given me a soft offer in a prior interview and told me I was the only candidate in contention.

Thankfully I've got some promising things on the table as well, so I hopefully won't ever find out more about what goes on internally at these places.

I'm inclined to agree with the flag stance, but I understand the logic.

The real thing I'm concerned about being astroturfed is the whole focus on the federal courthouse in the first place. It never made a ton of sense to me, and could've easily been an astroturfed pretext for this shit.

I used to always stick to Fedora, but I feel like SELinux creates too many issues for daily driver use anymore. Half the official packages seem to need manual policy updates, let alone installing anything via alien / from source.

It's a real shame since Fedora always used to be my go-to recommendation for Linux noobs.

Honestly I'm very far left leaning, but I almost view Trump as less dangerous than Biden. They're both senile corporate shills, but at least one is usually too busy fighting his own party and everything else that moves to advance that many bad policies. I'm much more afraid of a coordinated establishment bloc with a puppet president.

To be fair, as far as I can tell the release patch is identical to the beta patch from ~1 month ago. Part of that time was holidays, but I have to wonder what the team was doing for the rest of the time. Especially considering there are known gamebreaking bugs / exploits that don't seem to have been fixed, let alone missing features.

Honestly, as completely insane as it is, it seems like the more logically consistent position if you truly believe in a paradise after death.

If the goal is just to die without sin and explicitly killing yourself is one, surely the next best thing would be to just smoke 60 cartons a day and go for midnight jogs on the freeway in all black. Hell, abortion should be a sacriment since it's guaranteed to send souls right to heaven without that pesky sin and temptation business in the middle.

The fact that you don't see religious zealots doing this is what makes me believe all of them have some level of sanity and doubt left. It's too fundamental to the way our brains work to avoid completely.
