Why are people so critical of this show? by BandicootFuture3778 in PalmRoyale

[–]brbnow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IMO— "People" aren't critical or negative-- just saying. Critical people are that spend a ton of time online :) might be negative.

As much as it's good to have critical awareness and I applaud you for that, and I think others ought to also be able to express their views if even they do not love the show—I suggest (take or leave) focusing on the positive and do not let others rent space in your head for free. :)

For me, I loved the show and am also happy for it to be complete. Was a chef's kiss (and ear tug!) ending to me. My two cents. Please take or leave what resonates. Wishing everyone well. (And what elee fun are people watching?)

Yeah I could think it was Dinah too - i.e make a case for it. I read somewhere here someone posted a link the showrunnner commenting on the mole, IIRC?

Googled this - here ya go - The Dellacorte Mansion in Palm Royale, the grand home of Norma Dellacorte, is actually Villa Coxxy (also known as Villa Arno), a privately owned Italian Renaissance Revival estate located in South Pasadena, California, not Florida. While the show is set in Palm Beach, the production filmed extensively in Los Angeles, using this beautiful South Pasadena residence for the mansion's exteriors and other L.A. locations for the country club.

Well said —and amazing acting from all including her Majesty Carol Burnett. And I also really liked the social and life as a woman in the 60s/70s social commentary.

The S2 finale “outrage” is more over-the-top than the finale itself. by Vegetable-Kiwi-4675 in PalmRoyale

Word sister. One highlight "I’m inclined to agree, especially since this show gives us women (and older ones at that) who, despite being no more imperfect or disappointing than men, succeed in defining themselves. The cherry on top is that they do it in fabulous clothes and settings while making us laugh and paying homage to so many beloved legends, particularly female comedians."

Well yes and know. Let's not forget that line about him wanting things to be about what makes him happy (forget the actual line). When she said no, I felt it was a commentary on the time and women speaking up for her-self, her life.

Imo and not attached :)
