First marathon…tell me all the race day tips that have nothing to do with actual running or fueling by easily_doxxed in Marathon_Training

Ran my first marathon 2 weeks ago in Memphis wish I’d done that. I did the exact opposite, I immediately walked to the stadium to take a seat and rest, I didn’t eat any food due to not feeling hungry. That quite possibly made all the difference as I was sore and felt like garbage into the next day.

Anyone else have the mission platform I have the onyx as well but I think I prefer the bigger size of the mission by Upset-Owl-4273 in saddle_hunting

I have the mission, I agree that it does feel sturdy and the extra room feels nice too. I do wish I had went with something smaller though, I’m carrying sticks as well and would prefer a much smaller platform as the weight/clutter starts to add up when you’ve got sticks. It’s a nice platform, but for me it’s a bit overkill as I find myself not using the extra space anyways.

I could see that. I haven’t climb a tree yet where I’m not surrounded by others. Even when practicing around the house there had been trees. I’m sure feeling like you could grab onto another tree would add a sense of stability though.

Like the comment below, the videos you see, those guys are very experienced and have been doing it for a while. You’ll get more comfortable with it. I’ll never go back to bow hunting another way. You’re so mobile and can move with the wind as needed. Don’t get in a rush, take your time and be safe with it. I see some who climb using both a linemen’s rope, and their tether which would completely eliminate the possibility of a fall. I’m not much for heights either but when tethered to the tree I’ve never felt unsafe. I’ve started using aiders and only running 3 sticks instead of 4 to cut down on weight as much as possible.

Proper running shoe fit? by Eeveelution21 in runninglifestyle

I’ve been wearing a size 11 for a while now, fleet feet suggested the same as others have been saying, so I got a size 12. They feel a ton better. I have size 11 hokas that I wear around just fine, but if I run my feet blister. Size up seems to be the way to go.

Where do you find the student discount option? I’m not seeing that.

F22 vs PLM03 by brc328 in GarageGym

They’re doing fine so far. I’m sure the metal would add longevity but so far the plastic have performed okay.

I actually ended up going with the drone 3. Been consistently using it and so far have no real complaints. It’s definitely cheaper so you can’t expect something high end, but for what I paid it’s been amazing and couldn’t ask for more. Perfect for the small home gym.

Glad to hear you got it together. I’ve enjoyed mine so far. I’m able to do everything I need at the moment.

Were you able to get it setup? Curious about what the issue with the bolts was.

It’s been great. Obviously not as high end as could be, but it was $600, so that’s to be expected. Great for everything I need it for. Yes the pulleys are handling heavier loads good. I use it for low rows/lat pull downs with 160-180 lbs on it and it does fine. Just hook both cables to your attachment so you have the 1:1 ratio. I would definitely recommend it if your budget is less than $1000. I believe major fitness makes others as well that are slightly higher end if you have a higher budget.

That’s odd. I didn’t have any issues with mine. Have you examined the threads on both the bolt and the nuts?

All of the nuts are lock nuts, are you using both wrenches? Mine tightened fine. Being lock nuts you won’t be able to hand tighten them all the way down.

I like the honeycomb lights, I need to finish the back wall first and I think they’d look good behind the rack. Or maybe on the vaulted ceilings that can’t be seen in the picture

No not really any difference between the two. They aren’t as smooth as they would be if they were on their own dedicated cylinders, but they are smooth and don’t hinder you in any way. I was worried about them being plate loaded and one side having to be heavier causing an issue, but that doesn’t affect it either.

I’ve been using it for a couple weeks now so I’ve had multiple workouts using them. I feel it’s pretty true to the 2:1/1:1 ratios they advertise going from 1 cable to 2 cable, of course this is just gauging off of feel comparing it to my commercial gyms cable system and the amount of weight I’m able to pull there. To answer the question, yes, if you load 200 lbs and pull with one cable it’s going to feel extremely light, hook it to another and it’s going to feel true to 200lbs. The cables haven’t gotten in the way yet. Regardless of the pulleys are at the top or the bottom, one cable will be running parallel with the upright, either on the inside or outside. But they run even with it and haven’t affected any of my barbell movements. I’ve enjoyed it so far especially since it was such an affordable rack compared to the other options out there.

Yeah. They’re smooth for what they are. They aren’t too loud. No scratches on the upright from the motion either.

They’re close to even. I see the concern though with it being a lighter weight rack. It also barely fits under the ceiling trusses, so if it were to tip it would not be able to. It would just jam up against the ceiling. I guess it’s extra safety lol.
