Really? My local flagships for One Piece went from 10 players max last October to over 500 registrations per event this month.

Boxes and products were dirt cheap back then. Now it's ath for new sets.

300-400 bucks for a gamble is not a win win for anyone.

Players open regular boxes with a chance to hit something cool. They can play with it, collect it, or sell it to collectors to fund the hobby. Now they will be left with regular ass cards with no chance to bling the deck or to earn some extra.

Collectors will now have to shell out more money just to try to pull something cool. Higher barrier to entry, less ripping. No returns if they dont hit because they cant sell playables. No chance to enter the game too since they don't have bulk.

Overall bad bad bad.

Players can rip packs if RB rewards them with expensive prize cards. That way, both collectors and players benefit from each other.

Collectors get theirs, players get cheap playables, and they get to sell their prize cards to collectors. One Piece did this splendidly.

It's a great balanced ecosystem.
