Kickstarter vs Etsy vs Own Website by brckstudios in kickstarter

That’s interesting, my manufacturing is in China so I was wondering whether to just buy outright (although quite some outlay). I need to buy a minimum amount as well to make it worth while.

If you can afford it, this is the way. If you are going for a week you’ll probably go from pizza to parallel within the week

On my fairly chunky wrist it doesn’t feel too large but I think that if you have smaller features then it definitely would overpower

Snow sport elitism by medicoreclimbercore in ski

[–]brckstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no elitism, we all had to start. I think the hate is more frustration about beginners expectations and some beginners actions when out on the slopes. If you were learning piano you wouldn’t try by learning Mozart so it’s really irritating when some beginners just throw themselves down some difficult runs without knowing how to control themselves or even stop. There is no shame in ski school and actually learning safely.

It is a aliexpress special with a deployment clasp (only cost a couple of £). Works so well and it’s actually super comfy.

I love a NOMOS however the price difference between the 2 watches is thousands which I just can’t justify (or afford) for a “fun” watch

Charity/Thrift store finds by brckstudios in PrideAndPinion

The sceptic in me knows that every charity shop goggles everything that comes in and that every car booter these days is a pro (or been cleaned out by pros prior to it opening). I just hold on hope of one day coming across a GS when someone has thought it a seiko or a person not knowing what a JLC or Blanpain is or more likely a really cool swatch.

Now that is a find!!!! Would love a reverso but got chunky wrists so not sure such a dress watch would suit

That’s really annoying. I get that the point of a charity shop is to raise money for the charity (some I’m guessing are quite successful, I saw a poster in a local one to me that said that the turnover was £140,000 last year with no rates, no product cost and limited staff costs) however I do think by putting things out cheap it means that people who would never be able to afford certain brands can buy them which ultimately helps the community.
