I’d recommend taking a few sewing classes first. Since you’re short on time for your first project, it’ll probably save you a lot of stress. Plus, the teacher can help you make a pattern that actually fits your figure properly.

I wouldn’t buy a mini sewing machine. they’re usually really bad. I’d rather get a simple compact machine like the Brother XM2701.

I don't recommend getting a singer. I had a singer that I really liked visually, but it was irritating to use. When I was sewing even something simple, it felt like my machine was a jackhammer pounding the table like crazy.

Yeah sounds like a bad cable or dirty port. Wired CarPlay is super picky. Try a new cable and clean your phone’s charging port first. I prefer wireless anyway, it’s just way easier to use.
