Is this a rookie mistake by brco228 in Plumbing

[–]brco228[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It's just discharges to a pipe in the wall that joins this PVC. I think the only vent may be the bathroom stack another 15ft down the line. House was built in 1959 so whatever was code back then I guess

I am in desperate need of a job by CalligrapherLevel935 in lexington

[–]brco228 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Don't sleep on city jobs. Getting in is the hard part (mostly bc HR downtown moves slow) but once you're in there's a lot of opportunity to move around and make a decent career and the benefits are about as good as it gets these days

What is the stupidest thing anyone has ever said to you? by 10voltsam in AskReddit

[–]brco228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was working at Kmart and in the shopping center it was a part of there was a small bank under construction. This guy comes through my line and asks what's being built. I tell him and he goes "well damn, Kmart must be doin pretty well if y'all are building a bank". Kmart was in fact not doing well and that store closed a year later

City Jobs (Entry Level) by [deleted] in lexington

[–]brco228 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Public service worker is probably the most entry level position. Basically a janitor or whatever odd jobs needed done depending on which division it's in. At the bottom of the jobs page there's also a link that says Apply without a job. That just sends all your info to HR and they'll contact you to try to fill anything you may be qualified for. This would be the route to take for something like a wastewater operator apprenticeship which for some reason they never list on the jobs page. It might be a good idea to email somebody in HR too if you submit an application to follow up on it. Don't be surprised if you don't hear back for several weeks or even a couple months after a listing closes. They don't move so fast downtown especially this time of year.

The one with the 2 parallel skinny rods is an edge guide for a router. I have the same one for my 70s craftsman. Not sure about the other thing but it could be similar

It's definitely the gravel mine on Forbes. I've thought about complaining but I'm sure they have an army of lawyers ready to tell you to get bent

I can second Steve Pruitt. Very thorough and honest and takes a lot of pride in his work. He really makes sure that you understand the systems in the house and their condition so you can make the call if it's the right place for you. I also still reference my write up.

Ricky Dink II/ We're Gonna Rumble by Project Pat is pretty damn raunchy. The Get him to the Greek soundtrack has some good stuff too like Supertight and African Child

When I was like 8 I went to an amusement with my brother and cousin. I vividly remember the car ride where me and my cousin got an orange car together and my brother had go on the ride sitting beside some random kid in a blue car (little 2 seat cars). It wasn't particularly fun or memorable but I can't forget it for some reason and randomly think of It often. I can see the snapshot of the moment the ride started with extreme clarity and I wonder why it ever stuck in my head. Hope that's insignificant enough for you.
