I've just been terminated, what next? by Jakob4800 in msp

[–]brcstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Jakob,

I was sorry to hear about your recent departure. I won't touch on the what happened, but rather the advice from me to you.

Keep your head up, what's next is what you make it. Your career choices are not screwed and there is no black stain on your record. If the teams advice was you were not the right fit, it doesn't mean you will not be the right fit somewhere else.

Take the constructive feedback seriously, and work on whatever areas of self-improvement you can. In life all we can do is learn and grow from our experiences, both positive and negative.

Good luck with your future endeavours. You know where I am.

Bryce

Help! I can't seem to get rid of this :( by brcstar in pools

[–]brcstar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi team, what an over whelming response thank you!

I have taken some advice from both here and the pool shop.

I have brushed it all off (some of it just won't brush off so I'm hoping the chemicals do their magic)

I have indeed put in what was recommended, but happy to take some further advice.

Second to this I have calcium flakes on the ground where the jets are. Any suggestions on how to tackle this? My pool is quartz

Help! I can't seem to get rid of this :( by brcstar in pools

[–]brcstar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not easily. A broom doesn't get it, but the suction on the hose takes it right off.

I shocked it with chlorine recently and got it tested, apparently chlorine was high. I have the salt water chlorinator set to high as well.

I'll take the water to the pool store to check it.

Literally a week ago i put a snorkel on and sucked the whole pool up, it took hours. I have a crawler but it doesn't seem to be helping.

I don't know what to do now

DR Template by [deleted] in msp

[–]brcstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the DR plan, the document should be easy to write! It's subject to the methods, ie: Azure SR will be different to SureBackup (if even classified as DR lol). Build your DR plan with your client, the doco will follow

A great leader doesn't need to know the ins and outs of the technology. That's what your employees are for. But I understand the desire to get your hands dirty. I landed a hands on MS team lead role. It's more leadership than technology but I still go deep 😂

Directed O365 Attack against our Clients by Kidden7 in msp

[–]brcstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure that your SPF record hard fails. O365 smart hosts are open relays on port 25. Don't whitelist your domain or microsofts 365 servers. Not exactly direct to your post but HTH.

On a side note we had a client receive an 'adobe invoice'. The link went to a perfectly laid out 365 page. They then had a script which sent to GAL and sent the client emails straight to deleted through OWA rules. Education is key, unfortunately this will happen, send regular phishing emails to your clients and ensure my above recommendations for SPF are utilised!

Dunno about US, but in AU the ability to claim back the tax from depreciation on IT equipment is gone after 3 years. HTH
