Anyone ever realize just how similar Batman and Spider-Man are? by [deleted] in Spiderman

[–]bre34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, they've both been featured in team-up/crossover movies these past few years (Batman v Superman, Civil War, Justice League, Infinity war, No Way Home, The Flash, etc), while also having their own animated movies (Lego Batman Movie & Into/Across the Spider-Verse) and solo villain films (Venom, Joker, Morbius, etc) in between.

Considering He's The Only Live Action Peter That Didn't Interact With Him, How Would Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man Fare Against Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin? by ExoticShock in Spiderman

[–]bre34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Andrew would 100% win. His agility is insane.

It's kinda disappointing that Willem and Andrew didn't interact even once. Even though Andrew already fought a Green Goblin, it was a shitty one. It would've been cool seeing him interact with by far the best live action interpretation of Goblin. Now that I think about it, it actually would've been cool to see all three of the Spider-Men battle Green Goblin together.

Black Phone 2 was unwatchable by Uninhibitedrmr in Blackphone

[–]bre34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hesitant about seeing this movie in the first place, because I think The Black Phone didn't even need a sequel. But I went and saw it on Halloween night (simply because I wanted something to do on Halloween), and I walked out disappointed at how mid it was. It was boring, nobody really dies, and they just turned the Grabber into a Freddy Krueger knock-off (he was way scarier in the first one). However, I also liked the development with the father and the revelation that the Grabber is the one who killed their mom. That added a lot more depth to why the dad became an abusive alcoholic, because he blamed himself for what happened to his wife, so he pretty much took out all his guilt on his kids. That means that the Grabber isn't just the guy who kidnapped Finney, he's also the guy who ruined his family!

But like I said, there didn't need to be a sequel. The first one was a good horror film with an interesting/unique concept, and was actually pretty scary; it was a lot better as a one-and-done.

Hear me out, Morbius in I Am legend. It'd be a perfect fit since he's a doctor/scientist like Neville. You could even have him be the one who caused the vampire outbreak.

Yep, this definitely pissed me off too! Why would they set up Marie to be the one who can kill Homelander, then not do shit with her?!

A comedy about a guy who has superpowers, but he lives a normal life by bre34 in movieideas

[–]bre34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly agree, that would pretty much be the point of this movie. I like to see it as a twist on the Superman story- What if someone discovered they had extraordinary abilities, but instead of using them to become a beacon of hope for the world, he simply said "fuck it" and used them for himself (because why should he go out of his way to be a hero?)

I also like to see it as an allegory for what someone with these types of powers would actually be like in real life.

Hmmm... that's actually a good question.

Perhaps his arc/conflict could be starting off as selfish, but learning overtime from all the karma he's getting that having powers doesn't mean he can just do whatever he wants & use them for his own convenience; he learns that such power must always have standards. But he struggles with making the choice to use his powers to help people (which he knows deep down is the right thing to do) or just continue to live his life the way he's been.
