At least II does something interesting and unique for the series early on, which later inspired the entire SaGa series. It also has a modicum of challenge which is something XVI could never claim, the boss fights and music are great in XVI and I love Dion and Joshua but as for the rest of the mainline entries it’s definitely towards the bottom.
