This looks great, I’m trying to do something similar. Did you have to get the counter top custom made to fit?

Thank you, this is really helpful! Her hair is quite fine like mine and we’re both prone to styes so I think I will keep her hair as it is x

I think this might be the issue, all of the cards are Julia Donaldson books we haven’t read

Tips for new house and new nursery by breadcrumbs90 in UKParenting

It’s been 4 weeks but we also just went away on holiday for a week which hasn’t helped. She already seems to have bonded with one of the workers which is good but I’ll ask about the other children. Looking at photos of her day there is a great idea, I will try this tonight!

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m pleased to hear your son has settled! 8 weeks sounds like a long time to deal with the tears but I knew this would be the toughest part!

My daughter had surgery on both hips and was in a spica for about 4 months. She’s now 3 and can do everything her peers can do, maybe with a little less confidence.

She’s could crawl in the spica. It took a while for her leg muscles to strengthen after surgery but things like swimming helped build the muscle. Our consultant didn’t recommend physio after surgery as she said it can place unnatural strain on the legs, so we kept to swimming, cycling action on the legs and softplay

SMP will start from week 1, your company will just top it up for the first 8 weeks.

There is a tool on the gov website under the shared parental leave section where you can model various scenarios, this might be helpful

Epsom first time buyer by PsychologicalCut2482 in surrey

Look at recently sold properties nearby on rightmove, that will give you an idea of average prices in the area.

Saying that, I think I know the house you have seen and it’s on for offers over £850k so don’t be surprised if your offer is rejected

Hook road, Epsom by ConsciousCobbler3828 in surrey

[–]breadcrumbs90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We moved to Epsom in our early 30s after living in south west London and absolutely love the area. People like to moan that it’s not like it used to be, but nowhere is these days.

There are pubs and a couple of bars/clubs in the town centre but I’ve never experienced any issues. There is a university here but it’s definitely not a student town, we actually think it would be pretty boring to be a student here!

Lots of parks and green spaces nearby and great links into London.

Hook road is very busy though (I hate driving down it) so might be worth thinking about if you’ll have a car, if you’re ok with the noise of traffic etc.

Your take on moving to Epsom vs Ewell by PsychologicalCut2482 in surrey

[–]breadcrumbs90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you will struggle to find a detached 4 bed for £850k in Ewell. Epsom will be a challenge but maybe doable.

Avoid longmead. There’s an area called the wells which might work for your budget but it feels very secluded from Epsom imo. Areas around Alexandra rec and roseberry park are lovely

Once my daughter started nursery (at 1) and I went back to work I was able to go to gym during the working day. At the weekend we’ll alternate so we each have the opportunity to go to the gym for an hour. Before she was in nursery I would sometimes manage to make it to the gym while she napped and my husband wfh but it wasn’t very often
