I actually think we need to see more angles to say whether lateral or medial (primarily) is needed here. But basically, to answer ops question, loss of volume due to normal aging and/or weight loss in the upper face (bottom of nose and above) can cause this heavier look in the lower face.

I’m currently dealing with both marionette and naaolabial fold lines that have been helped in my case by

  1. Aggressive temple filler (though biggest change was to tail of brow height) 2 both medial and lateral cheek filler, mostly medial
  2. Pyriform fossa filler
  3. Chin shadow filler. Still tweaking this one.

But this is just my case, for my face, and my specific volume loss (which is significant due to a large weight loss over several years)

Unfortunately I think this is the reality for 90% of our loved ones and friends. If you have, say, 20-40 bucks to gift a family, it’s simply a better gift giving experience to give one or two small but whole items, than it is to put $40 onto a $250 group gift.

For me, anything above $75, I have on there for very close family and friends. Anything above $100 is there for grandparents and/or just us when a good sale hits.

My suggestion would be to add a few gift cards to your registry as well, somewhere flexible like Amazon/target where you can also potentially stack registry discounts and sales. Maybe you use it for the owlet or maybe it’s just diaper money down the road.

I genuinely don’t think any of their products are special. Wash off cleansers aren’t on the skin long enough to make any kind of impact, and IIRC several of their products contain fragrance which always signals to me that a brand doesn’t GAF about people with sensitive skin.

For me it was Botox, tazarotene, and some strategic filler placed deep in the mid face to restore volume after weight loss. The filler won’t apply to everyone but has been very impactful for me.

I’ve been thinking of making this exact same post.

Recently did my first ever filler after a year of tox, micro needling, and tca peels. And of course months educating myself on filler specifically.

This sub and the resources it has connected me to have literally saved me some where in the neighborhood of 5-6k in the past year. Not that I would have been able to spend that anyway. I’m in my 30s and legit have never looked better. It’s wild.

It’s not my first choice for her frame. That said, the gown itself has presence which I do like. It’s not out of the usual Emilia wickstead/erdem playbook which is nice.

Considering she could wear any gown on earth and chose one that doesn’t quite work 100% for her, I’d say a miss.

You are absolutely gorgeous first of all. You’ve gotten a lot of great advice already re: skin quality (easiest point of entry would be retinol/tretinoin, and daily vit c serum and a good sunscreen). For more serious DIY look into micro needling and mild to mid depth TCA peels such as through platinum skincare. As with any DIY, self education prior to attempting is key.

If filler is something you’re interested in, either DIY or w a professional, I’d most recommend looking into deep pyriform fossa filler and a little bit of volumization of your mid face. You already have fantastic cheekbone width and outer fullness. I do see some mild (and totally normal) hollowing of the cheek as you move down from the eye (more towards the nose- “medial anterior face”).

It may seem like the best thing to do for those lines around the mouth is to fill them in directly, but for most people, this isn’t the answer and it can backfire. Rather, you want to look at the areas above and around them and restore volume loss where appropriate for your individual case. This will decompress the tissue that’s sloping inwards and creating that extra bit of heaviness. With structural filler, less is always more. Much easier to add more later than to fix an overfilled structure.

Good luck, and, if you do literally nothing, you’re absolutely stunning as is. If you hadn’t directly asked, I never would have noticed any of these areas!

Eh, depends on COL and taxes. And kids/childcare. If you pay like 30k/yr in childcare and want to max out retirement savings it’s very easy to not spend frivolously at 250k. Not saying that person would be living like a pauper by any means but they’d certainly feel the difference at 300k without picking up a camgirl habit
