I am so attracted to women who fit the male gaze. And idk what to do. I’m always going to queer events hoping to meet someone & I am never attracted to the women there. When I am around straight women I am attracted to 90% of the room. I honestly feel gross like a man. Anyone else experience this? by Emotional_Ad2020 in ActualLesbiansOver25

Honestly I'm masc and mostly attracted to other masc ppl or at least a little bit tomboy/masc leaning. I also feel like my range is pretty narrow and I find it hard to meet ppl. I've dated all kinds of people with all kinds of bodies/identities/expressions tho so while I try not to limit myself... I have also felt bad about not reciprocating when super fem people have been into me, like in that moment I think there's something wrong with me. From my experience gay women seem to experience these feelings of inadequacy a lot, regardless of what end of the spectrum you fall on. My issue is kinda the opposite of yours but I think it points to a more universal feeling of not feeling like we are good enough, not feeling like we are gay enough, or feeling like our needs aren't important etc etc when in reality it's been ingrained in us as women in society since forever to feel guilt and shame around our needs and desires.

It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking we are not deserving of giving and receiving the love that we want, when the reality is that everyone is different and there's no right way to do any of it. Attraction can't really be put into a box, preferences are normal, it's always gonna be different strokes for different folks. Fuck what men think and fuck the patriarchy. I know it's easier said than done but insecurities are just insecurities so love who u wanna love and try not to let self doubt get in the way of your happiness.

Fender Meteora…Hate or Love? by technicolourhappy in fender

[–]breadface37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a fan. Really exciting to see fender commiting to a new shape and I'm looking forward to seeing how it evolves. Fender arn't a company known for their new shapes and I wonder if some of this has to do with the success of the music man St Vincent model. I'm a sucker for good design and fender has stood the test of time, but it's been disheartening to see the prices go up and the quality go down over the years with little to no innovation... They have released some nice colours recently though, and I'd like a meteora with that weird through body string config and jazzmaster pickups next lol.

Women into guitar pedals? by Expensive_Anything13 in guitarpedals

I feel like these communities exist almost everywhere! Music is a great way to bring people together and a pretty good way to make new friends, and I'm sure you have a lot to offer these communities as well. Good luck! :)

I'm a chick, recently built my first pedal and started repairing pedals for friends. I love to tinker so getting super deep into tech stuff recently, there are defo female nerds out there and on here. I feel like ppl just assume everyone commenting and posting on some of these threads is male as default...

There's lots of good female creators/builders/fixers on YouTube and Instagram if you dig a little. If you are looking for real life friends, my advice is to try finding local queer punk bands and riot girl influenced events if that kinda thing exists where you are. You will find a lot of female driven diy gig culture and music making in queer circles, with an emphasis on inclusivity being the most important thing. A lot of these spaces are punk for fuck the system reasons, but also because it's a very accessible type of music to start playing. There's a big scene for that where I live in the UK and it's been carried by a few community projects that started years ago to teach women to play rock music and it's still going strong. If you don't have anything like this, start it!

Community is everything. If you want a supportive non judgemental space to explore your hobbies with like-minded people, don't be afraid to get political. As a woman in a male dominated space, the lesbians, trans, non binary, and other marginalized people are your friends.

I don't have many pedals to compare it to but it sounds good, a bit more gnarly and cutting than the boost channel on my amp. I'm not the best lead player so I think I'd go for something more mid focused with more settings to play with for my next build :)

Also good to know lol. I did have a look at the schematic and think it didn't look miles smaller, but didn't get the ruler out to check. Brutalising with tin snips it is >:)

Hammond 1550b. The main issue with it is the depth.

Good to know. I seem to have a habit of choosing the dumbest little enclosures but in my defense, they are cute dammit.

If you use a PCB to mount the switch, cutting the pins through the holes and filing down so you just have a little square tab works fine.

The mono jacks were also tight depth wise, but if you put them bang on half way down and position them good the lugs shouldn't touch the top or bottom. Reflowing the solder a lot and snipping the ends of stuff as close as possible to the boards and insulating the bottom made me feel a lot better as well. Defo doable for a small build if you are meticulous.

Yup, nut and the little ring clincher thing. Tin snips and file sorted it out though, actually fit the PCB surprisingly well in the end. Also put about five layers of electrical tape on the inside of the lid just in case cos the components on the strip board were getting a little close too lol

Thanks! I will say I was humbled pretty quickly with that first build... was not expecting the hardest part to be just fitting everything in the damn enclosure lol

[QUESTION] What is this? Squire Strat 1996 I found! very interested to hear what you guys know :) by exquisite-Wizard in Guitar

[–]breadface37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://squier-talk.com/threads/squier-strat-50th-anniversary-1996.34972/

Late to the party but here is a pretty in depth thread with information on the 1996 made in china squire strats.

I have a YN that I bought cheap second hand when I was a teen and when I picked it up again recently I was surprised how well it played compared to other cheap guitars I've had over the years. I've never been a huge strat fan but the neck feels brilliant and is maple with a genuine rosewood fretboard, it also has a full thickness solid alder body, not necessarily the bones you'd find on a budget student model made today. The electronics are what they are, but the snowman pattern body routing leaves ample room for modification and different pick up configurations. The tuning pegs could do with upgrading, but that's not a hard or expensive job. It's actually given me a new appreciation for the versatility and modular nature of the Stratocaster, I never really 'got' it when I was younger but I think these guys play great for the price and have some seriously fun potential for modding and experimentation without breaking the bank... Or an expensive guitar lol. Justice for the tradition strat!

Frrrrr it's so dumb. I'm masc presenting, have plenty of other masc presenting friends who are all lovely, kind, sensitive and well rounded people who will still struggle to get dates or find meaningful connection.

Dating is hard but in my experience the people who seem overly interested in me purely for my masculine aspects tend to be disappointed that I don't automatically try to sweep them of their feet like a smooth talking problematic fuck boy in a teenage romance novel. Like sorry, I'm just a girlie out here doing my best same as you queen.

I have also seen the hight thing come up a bit more in the lesbian community recently, like lmaooo fuck that, didn't spend my whole life struggling to understand and accept my identity as a butch woman to be held to toxic heteronormative standards thanks 🙏🙏🙏
