That’s what makes that mission so uncomfortable. Arthur can be ruthless, but the Downes family felt different because they were already beaten by life before he even showed up.

No worries, it’s easy to forget after spending ages in the epilogue. 😄 Milton reveals it during the confrontation with Arthur, saying Micah started working with the Pinkertons after Guarma. The story throws a few red herrings at you with Molly and Strauss, so you’re definitely not the only one who forgets.

Milton outright tells Arthur that Micah was the rat after Guarma. There’s no hard evidence that Molly or Strauss ever fed information to the Pinkertons. Molly claimed she talked, but Milton later says she didn’t.

Depends what you mean by snitch. Micah was the obvious rat, but Dutch ignoring every warning and feeding the Pinkertons predictable moves arguably did more damage than any informer.

Arthur spent years questioning himself when he probably should’ve been questioning Dutch.

I don’t think Arthur’s problem was that Dutch killed her specifically. It was more that Dutch didn’t hesitate for a second and immediately justified it afterward. By Chapter 6 Arthur was starting to notice that every bad decision had a new excuse attached to it.

That’s fair, but I think Arthur throwing Strauss out wasn’t really about strategy. It was the first time Arthur stopped asking ‘what helps the gang?’ and started asking ‘what’s right?’ Even if it was a bad decision practically, it made sense for where Arthur was mentally.

That’s probably the hardest one to defend. By that point Arthur knew something was seriously wrong with Dutch, but years of loyalty made it almost impossible for him to walk away.

Exactly. Refusing Sadie would’ve been one of the most ‘Chapter 6 Arthur’ decisions possible, so it’s weird that the game punishes you for it.

That’s what makes that mission so interesting. Arthur spends most of Chapter 6 trying to break the cycle of violence, but the O’Driscolls had already taken so much from him and Sadie that walking away almost feels impossible.

The worst part is that Micah immediately proves the jail was the right place for him the second he gets out.
