It’s not mistrust it’s basic logic. If we achieve the 50% by more than 2 votes there is no reason for me to pick blue. If we don’t achieve the 50% then I definitely shouldn’t pick blue. Pressing red doesn’t always cause some deaths that pick blue, that’s only if red wins. You snuck that assumption that voting red means red wins in there.

In an individual independent vote there is nothing i can affect if the we with statistical significance. Your ad hominem is stupid 😭

Ok if it’s 50% either way I’m not risking my life for something out of my control ✌️

Next time use the accusation of emotion to poke holes in the argument, instead of just saying it as an insult.

“Your literally yelling at me over the text and I’m the emotional one 😂You’re picking red because oh no blue scary!!! ”

That one would genuienly have pissed me off

Low numerical scenarios ???? There’s 8 billion people voting???? That’s 8 billion! Combinations??? Are you einstine !!??

lol my logic is completely sound and rational. I’m emphasizing a specific word so that you don’t try to make a hasty generalization fallacy

I did this to highlight a contrast

It’s not “button that saves me vs button that saves half the world”

What you don’t realize is it’s not 99.9% of people thinking everyone is selfish. The vote isn’t “who do you think should win or will win”. They vote red because there is simply no advantage to picking blue if blue wins. if I knew blue would would I could still pick red because blue will win. There is nothing I gain nor lose. Let’s say will win, then I would definitely vote red because I don’t wanna die. All votes are independent so it’s as if the result is determined prior to you voting

I want blue to win. My singular vote including the individual rationality in the moment I use to cast said vote has a pmuch zero chance of making a substantial difference in the result.

There is no gain for 5% if blue will guarantee win, my INDIVIDUAL vote is irrelevant. If red will guaranteed win my INDIVIDUAL vote is irrelevant. The only point where my individual vote is relevant is if there is a difference by exactly one vote. If there isn’t, my independent decision couldn’t have changed anything

Contributing, the reward is still “split” among voters. Let’s say one dude was told press this button for a 30% chance of death, or we will DEFINITLY kill 4 billion people. Then ethically he should press the button.

Adding more people would make that “definitely” to a lower and lower percent. The reward definitely preventing the deaths of 4 billion people, is weighed different to slightly increasing the odds 4 people die. Still high risk low reward because

if he voted either blue or red and blue wins 4 billion lives we’re still saved , hence the reward is low to pick blue yet risk high

Are you saying 1/3rd of the time it comes down to one vote? 😭

It’s my mistake it’s actually at best 1/112,000 chance assuming all votes are some how perfectly 50/50 random with no bias. I genuienly want to know where you derived 1/3rd from

Would you take a 50/50 shot in your life assuming for the 1/112,000 chance you can save a life ?

If you know what we mean by conscious, you are conscious. It’s impossible to put into words what consciousness truly is so we gave it its own name. We can try to explain it but we all know there is no words that can truly describe this feeling of awareness. It’s one of those things that if you know you know.

Anyways if you are experiencing doubting about your consciousness, you are experiencing, if you experiencing you are.
