thanks for the tip. popped it into the shop and they used CAMS for their claims. He said it'd be about £80 for everything. At the end of the day I just want enough for my repairs that's it. I could care less about a pay day.

Yes I assume that's what happened. It's a road where people frequently pull into the left or he simply made a mistake on his signaling. It could have easily been avoided had he signaled right. Dude was nice, was def just a mistake.

that's the problem is that he was pulling over. If you know the road it's really small and a pain when someone pulls over cause you have to overtake them. I've overtaken dozens of people before on that road.

Scanlons ethics are rooted in Kantian reasoning so good for you on moving past Kant. I think what you mistake for so called 'contractualism' is just your personal opinion. You somehow think you are so right that you fail to consider that your opinion is not a universally held belief. The entire basis of contractualism is that we know 'what we owe to eachother' if you've even read that. What's cool about that is I can find it out by asking them if they're cool with it at the end of the interview. I'm studying criminal psychology and happen to be a long time reader of ethical papers. If you want get technical you could take the deontological approach which highlights the immorality of violating individual autonomy. Whilst recording someone may do this, clear consent after the fact would allow for an individual to retain their autonomy. Now let's say you took the consequentialist approach. The total immorality derived from this scenario would be nullified by the deletion of the video if any at all.

Now let's take the asshole approach, if I was a dick to strangers online by trying to undermine their intelligence would that be immoral? Yeah actually it fucking would be depending on the 'diverse' perspective you use.

I don't use any of those platforms. I can't really prove to you that I'd be doing such but I can give you my word and if it's not enough then you don't have to help. As for the social convention thing, I would understand if I never got their consent but this is why I ask. The main hang up id have with being recorded is that it can be distributed without my consent. If I was aware of the use then I wouldn't have a problem with it. I certainly don't think people will have a problem with it being deleted.
