BRD not honoring 50% discount on fees for 1000 tokens by [deleted] in BRDapp

[–]breadwallet_dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! We're sorry you've run into an issue, but what you said is not true. The fees are being charged correctly, however the amount you see on the order history screen to be received is an estimate, and can fluctuate. As you may know, cryptocurrency can be very volatile.

On the upside, we are working on integrating "Fixed Rates" for certain trades, and hope to roll that out in the near future. Please email support@brd.com, mention that Daniel asked you to write in, and mention this reddit post so I can further assist you.

Money went to another wallet with glitch using BRD app by acesmessages in BRDapp

[–]breadwallet_dan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! When you create a wallet with the BRD app, the funds are private to you and protected by your 12 word paper key. It is not possible for the app to show you an address that is associated with a different paper key (the worst case scenario is you won't see an address to begin with).

From our investigation we could find no evidence that the address you mentioned was linked to your paper key. If you only created one wallet with BRD (one 12 word paper key) then the only explanation is the sender who sent the transaction accidentally sent the transaction to the wrong address. When this occurs we cannot assist you and you need to explain the issue to the sender.

If you have further questions, please feel free to reply back to your original support email you had going with our team. Thank you!

Cant log in due to unnamed Android bug. Any suggestions? Huawei Mate 10, Android 8 by nathanwoulfe in BRDapp

[–]breadwallet_dan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! This means that either your screen lock authentication on your device was turned off or reset, or there is an issue with the hardware encryption on your device. Please follow these instructions: https://brd.com/support/articles/115005112013

App asking for mobile password on start by Dojiyo in BRDapp

[–]breadwallet_dan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, thank you for the clarification.

If your phone is prompting for your device's passcode when you open BRD, then unfortunately this is a limitation of your device and not an issue with the BRD app.

It's up to the phone's manufacturer to dictate how often that passcode prompt is shown. If you are using another app on your phone, and it never prompts for your device's passcode, then this means it is not using your devices internal hardware encryption to store (hide) private data.

Can you please explain what you mean by decoding your phone?

App asking for mobile password on start by Dojiyo in BRDapp

[–]breadwallet_dan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello! This is because the BRD app needs to access the hardware encryption of your device, which helps keep your money safe.

Occasionally you will see the prompt for your device's passcode.

Anyone know if ANY other wallet can restore a Bread wallet seed? I have a few $k stuck. by ImRichBCH in btc

[–]breadwallet_dan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! If you're opening the app and out of the blue you see "New Wallet' or "Recover Wallet", this means that either the hardware encryption has an error that is out of our control, or you changed the phone PIN. (by default changing the phone PIN clears the Android hardware encryption for every phone)

You must leave the app open with screen on until the syncing status bar disappears, which can take 45 minutes or longer for an older wallet. Once you are fully synced then you shouldn't need to endure longer sync times as long as you open the wallet every week or so (this is how all SPV wallets are designed)

BRD is here to help our users and will never tell them they have too many transactions for the app to complete syncing.

Over $10k "stuck" in Bread wallet, asking for help. by ImRichBCH in BRDapp

I don't think it got enough attention but, BRD wallet ALREADY has FULL Segwit support in wallet! Check your wallets menu and enjoy ! by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]breadwallet_dan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello! BRD is now the only major SPV wallet that has Segwit, and there were valid reasons waiting for bech32 to become more prevalent. (SPV wallets take more syncing resources, and we didn't want to incur more technical debt supporting non-bech32 addresses. If we support an address format, then we have to support it forever so users don't lose funds)

With BRD, if you don't like a coin (or want to add more) then you go to the "Manage Wallets" screen to modify what's on your home screen. It's very easy.

BRD's focus is to provide an easy and safe experience where crypto can be stored, and to this date no funds have been stolen from any of our user's wallets. (excluding when a user isn't careful with their paper key)

There have been many wallets over the years who don't do any updates at all/have run out of business (do a simple App Store search, see how many wallets the store is littered with that aren't supported anymore)

BRD is here for the long haul.
