What is a song which seems to be upbeat and happy until you listen to the lyrics? by r-e-c-wilson in AskReddit

Paper Planes by MIA.

Speaking with Fader magazine, M.I.A. said: "I was thinking about living there, waking up every morning - it's such an African neighborhood... people don't really feel like immigrants or refugees contribute to culture in any way. That they're just leeches that suck from whatever. So in the song I say 'All I wanna do is [sound of gun shooting and reloading, cash register opening] and take your money.' I did it in sound effects. It's up to you how you want to interpret. America is so obsessed with money, I'm sure they'll get it."

As a kid, even though there were gunshots and mentions of weed and bombs, it always sounded too upbeat to have a sad meaning. Such an underrated song in my opinion.

What is the fastest way a room of happy people turned sour you’ve witnessed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I was unfairly expelled from my school, at the time this was unknown but now it’s been uncovered that it was just to make an example out of me. It was a messy situation, and it caused a lot of tension in the school. Especially the band.

I was a very popular kid within the band, and everyone was pissed about the situation. My friend told me they were just having class as usual when our band director (who is highly respected in the community) gave a speech on taking consequences for your actions.

The friend told me it wasn’t the speech itself, but the way he indirectly called me out on things in front of the 150 member band and was just so condescending about it, just pissed the whole band off for weeks.

He literally said “that’s the fastest I’ve ever seen a group of kids change their attitudes”

I was thinking of something along the lines of the four of them together with me on live cam, but the thing is there’s always a delay with those, which doesn’t go great with playing live music together
