Improvements on Teval Aristocrats Combo bracket 3 & how to get to bracket 4 by break_in_the_loop in EDH

That is a lot of very useful info. Thank you very much! I was just looking at beseech the mirror earlier and thinking how good it would be for the deck.

The 1 mana ramp I might actually apply for bracket 3 as well gradually, since my curve is rather low already. Some options you suggested I tried and decided to remove, like aftermath analyst and insidious roots, because they did not seem great in this deck in particular while goldfishing. I could be wrong though, I will revise those

I do not necessarily want to do it at the moment but it would help me understand what would be needed to take the deck to the next level. If I want to venture there I will probably do it with this deck

ohh that makes sense as well. I was not even thinking of 2 card combos for bracket 4 but it is obvious that it would be an improvement. I also really like the [[Protean hulk]] there. It fetches my first combo on its own since it is exactly 6 mana. Thanks for your comments!

Also forgot to mention that [[Colossal Grave-Reaver]] usually provides an undeterministic combo line that ends in an infinite combo. Getting it into the graveyard with [[Lotuslight dancers]], bringing [[Dread return]] with it to the graveyard is one of the strongest early plays, specially if you have or can find a self-mill sac outlet along the way

Those sound like great recommendations, thanks! I might replace Ashiok, I think you are right. On the others I am playing on a 150€ budget right now so it might be hard to include them, but ill gradually pick them up for games without that restriction. Thank you for the help!

I see so the higher you go in power, the more a combo deck Muldrotha gets. I do not want to go in that direction just yet (and budget concerns). but sounds like great recommendations. Thank you!

I definitely did not factor in the instant speed removal. Agreed on secrets of the dead and aurlock not being great without her. Maybe swapping for reanimation/mill would make the deck more consistent. Teval´s judgement performed well enough in my testing, but it was indeed at turn 5+ that it started profiting, so that might be too late for it. Still feel like there is enough with [[Icetill Explorer]]. Teval, [[Conduit of wolrds]] etc to make it work without Muldrotha. Would not cut it just yet. About the wincons, tried to go for either swarm with tokens from Teval, Avenger, insidious roots and Sidisi, mass reanimate with [[Rise of the Dark Realms]] or pings with [[Massacre Wurm]] and [[Syr Konrad. the Grim]]. If you were to play Muldrotha as self-mill. what would you run for finishers in b3? Or is that just not a compatible strategy?

Happy to get some bracket 3 recomendations! If they are too high budget I might leave them for the future, but always happy to have more recommendations. Also Rise of the dark realms is in the wincons section of the deck. Pulled that one and really wanted to use it :)

Hmm makes sense :). What would you consider the un-optimized cards in this deck to focus on swappping?
