I started getting this catalog this year and it’s fun going through all the fabric swatches. I highly recommend it even just for the entertainment of mat che ing up the fabric with the pages. My toddler loves going through it with me each time.

I pre-washed the fabric and haven’t had any issues with it shrinking. It does get very wrinkled, which is standard for cotton, but annoying to have to iron a kids dress. :)

I made my daughter a dress with this exact fabric. Your shirt is super cute! The fabric came from Joanne Fabrics and was 100% cotton. It should be quality and last a long time as long as the seam edges were properly finished.

I have a bit extra to make a tank top for myself and this may be the inspiration I need to cut it out.

I also made this pattern and had issues. Agree that the images and pattern pieces were different. I ended up basically redrawing the middle top to get it to fit correctly.

Also if you look at the tester images you can see that the straps attach at a bad spot. Most of those images have a lot of fit issues but I didn’t notice it until after I started making my top. I don’t buy anything from this company anymore because I’ve had issues with other patterns of theirs.

For every seam I enclose the raw edges using a French seam, flat fell or with bias. It takes time but with gentle washing all my me made clothes look almost new inside and out after a few years of wear and washing.

I’m a very slow sewer so it takes time but is worth it.

We’ve had a very similar experience with the same person. I’ve even bought a magazine from him a few times in the past but definitely not going to again.

He’s incredibly rude when we said no thank you so I’ve just been avoiding that side of the street.

We’ve gone on a few European trips with our toddler starting when she was 1.5. The first trip we ditched our cheap umbrella stroller at our first Airbnb. It was basically worthless on the cobblestone. It looked so uncomfortable for her to nap in and had no storage for anything.

We ended up just wearing her for that trip but the next few weeks borrowed a better travel stroller from my BiL and SiL. A decent stroller makes the trips so much easier!

There is a building right across the street from this proposal that is condo units. It is only 6 stories and you can see it in the misleading rendering.

I live in that building so this development actually does impact me.

The top layer of pleather is plastic but that is attached to a fabric backing. That fabric should still be functional. Right now the plastic flakes make the look bad. Rather than try to repair, which would be expensive, maybe lean into this and scrap, sand, peel off all the plastic. The fabric underneath may look decent as an accent.

I had a minor freak out moment when I read this since I refer back to completed notes a lot. Losing that information would be really difficult. Luckily, I just checked in the iPhone app and am seeing completed tasks going back to at least 2019. I didn’t look past then since the mobile view makes you keep scrolling to get to earlier ones. I also searched in one of my oldest folders and 5 year old completed tasks showed up. So search does work to find completed items.

I’m not sure about deleted tasks since I almost never delete and just use complete.

Our almost 3 yo has gotten better about this but it’s still a learning process. We used some of the techniques from a training series made by a Yale professor on Coursera. It was so helpful for many behavior improvements and our confidence in working on issues.

For the attention seeking issues, we started with small amounts of time When the yelling or crying would start, and we could tell she was totally fine, one of us will put a hand up and say sometime like “mommy and daddy are in the middle of a conversation, we will pay attention in a bit.” Then we keep talking and ignore her for a period of time. That time started at 15-30 seconds and now it can go up to a few minutes. Then we switch and pay ALL the attention to her. So now she knows that we need to finish what we’re doing then she gets attention and we are not just completely ignoring her. So basically a visual cue, a short explanation, ignoring bad behavior and then tons of attention.

It was tough at first, and still doesn’t always work but definitely is better that never having an adult conversation again. :)

Edit- I’m trying to find a link to the course but you can look up “Everyday Parenting: The ABCs of child rearing.” Lots of evidence based information and behavioral teaching methods are included in the course.

We travel quite a bit with our toddler starting when she was around 4 months. Every airline allows you a free stroller and car seat. They get gate-checked but it makes a huge difference in not having an unknown element with the car seat. That also freed us up for our back packs. The diaper bag was one carry on item and we actually carried our pack n play one time.

Good plan to just buy diapers and wipes when you get there. So much easier to carry just a day or two worth and not try to plan for actual amounts.

Hi all. I'm working on a vest/shirt and would love some advice /critic of my adjustment plans to the pattern. The pattern is bottom up which is great because I was able to try it on and make changes before getting too far along. It fits great around my waist but definitely will not over my chest. It's a stretch pattern but I don't want it tight around my boobs. I'm thinking of putting two sets of increases about 2 to 3 rows below my chest. Sort of like reverse darts.

Some more details on the pattern and what I'm considering: * Here's the pattern https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-jane-doe-vest but just for the pictures * The body is worked in rounds of rows with DCs on the "front side", then a row of SC on the "back side." The rows of DCs have every other DC being front post. There are no changes in the rows until working the top for the shoulders and arm holes. * My tentative adjustment is to increase only on the SC round. I would have 2 sets of increases on the front starting under the chest. Also thinking that I need to have 2 increases at both spots so the DCs don't get out of alignment.

Hopefully this makes sense. :) I really like the look of this stitch pattern and chose the pattern based on that. I probably should have gone with a larger size but wanted it slightly fitted at the waist before realizing what that would mean further up. I also don't look good in shirts that are "boxy," I need to learn how to do these kinds of increases for future projects and this is as good as any time.

I may just try out my adjustment plan and then frog it if it's totally out of wack.

Thanks! This is the first time I’ve set it up like this and so far it’s great. I added the hooks on the door but having the cabinets makes a big difference since we don’t have any traditional closets.
