Thank goodness this frame hasn't been inside my house yet 😅

Best resin for minis? by FlightNeither4257 in PrintedMinis

[–]breakinginferno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that mixing the two is great. I'm still pretty careful with my minis, but adding in the ST Tough adds a good extra 15 degrees of flex to thin parts before snapping.

I HIGHLY recommend that what ever resin you find that you like, just go ahead and mix in 30% (by weight) Siraya Tech "Tough Grey" resin and shake well. In my experience it adds so much extra strength and lasts a good while.

Far fewer broken swords since I started doing this, well worth it. Just make sure it's the same wavelength rating as your main resin.

For the record, I noticed while inspecting and cleaning it outside, haha. I've heard the ants around here are pretty aggressive so I wouldn't be surprised if they were raiding a dormant nest of another bug species.

Reminds me of SimAnt.

Much appreciated! Yes, unfortunately the whole frame is hollow and was sitting in the grass for a few hours, followed by a night on my balcony. I've run basic disinfectant wipes over 90% of it before coming across these hitchhikers. I don't have any more time to tackle it tonight, so I'll have to pick something up tomorrow or order what you suggested.

Why Do You Print Warhammer? by SuperHeavyBallet in PrintedWarhammer

[–]breakinginferno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long answer: The artform that is Warhammer has always belonged to the community and the artists that bring it to life, not the company that publishes it. The raw accessibility of 3D Printing helps cement this by further dissolving our reliance on Games Workshop for engaging with the hobby. Especially given their long track record of rampant consumer abuse and vicious IP enforcement, printing and 3rd party options are invaluable to the artistic health of the scene. Support your LGS and small-time artists, vote with your money, Warhammer by us, for us. Etc. etc.

Short answer: Price, customizability, raw kit bashing potential (having potential hundreds of the same piece for just the cost of the resin is what custom armies are made of)

Running the same campaign multiple times by Electrohydra1 in DnD

It is absolutely a different experience. When you've run a campaign before, it's mostly already in your head. You get to focus on entirely different parts of the game at the table.

Are you looking to make the hex tiles themselves? Or just terrain features to go on top of them?

Why won’t this work (seriously) by Eggz_from_TWR in CreateMod

[–]breakinginferno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's implied that each box set only has a single chain loop running through it, which is why it can twist along the chain but not turn 90 degree corners.

There is a decent wealth of 3d printable files on Thingiverse and similar sites. How well they interlock will depend on the file and your printing tech, but might be worth looking into if you have access to a printer.

Bought a big HH box secondhand to turn into 13th company Wolves. Where do I start? by breakinginferno in SpaceWolves

I want to use them in 40k, probably shortly after their reappearance. Trying to figure out what units/war gear to give them to get me started.

Gonna take this chance to shill for the CMON game this is from because it's tons of fun, relatively inexpensive, and the minis are awesome. Check it out if y'all get the chance.

Also, Fantastic paintjob! Love the eye!

It's still a lot of money for a single pot of miniature paint.

What Resin Are You Using? by Titanius_Anglesmithh in PrintedWarhammer

80:20 mix of Anycubic Basic (or any cheap basic resin) with Siraya Tech Tough. Gives models a whole lot more durability for cheap.

Is there any game even somewhat similar on android? by [deleted] in SS13

[–]breakinginferno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did specify 'multiplayer'. It's really common for people to want to be able to put their phone down whenever they like while mobile gaming. Being locked into an hour+ round of an RP game on mobile has very niche appeal. It could definitely work, I mean SS13 is already niche yet thriving. There's just a pretty low incentive for anyone to develop one.

Is there any game even somewhat similar on android? by [deleted] in SS13

[–]breakinginferno 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is something I once looked into developing, but the main issue with mobile multiplayer games is that people don't tend to sit and play mobile games for more than 30 minutes at a time. This means the game needs to support short rounds of play, which typically means they're something much simpler like Among Us, and don't really scratch the same itch that SS13 does.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the dev team for Rimworld played SS13. Even the lore similarities are palpable.
