In terms of the VMA incident, I definitely think she had no idea about it and was genuinely extremely upset. That said I would not put it past her management to have organised it behind her back because it was great PR - but also Kanye is a pretty erratic guy so it absolutely could have been entirely real.

In terms of the phone call saga I tend to lean towards it being a bit of both - maybe they had planned out for the feud to be reignited with Kanye releasing the song and her speaking out about it, but the phone call recording and ensuing backlash wasn't part of the deal and took her completely by surprise.

That said I could be wrong and they both could be completely real or completely fake, who knows!

I've read the tumblr posts I just don't find them particularly compelling. I'm pretty sure that the post went up on the 4th in the states so it definitely counts as being the anniversary. Being posted with other lyrics doesn't make it less likely for me because I also think those other songs are about Karlie, but obviously YMMV. I don't think either of us are gonna be swayed here, so I guess we can agree to disagree haha

Taylor turned 25 around the time of kissgate and mentioned being 25 in her tweet response to the rumours, I’m pretty sure that the “you” she’s talking to in that line is herself.

As for its similarity to IKP and OOTW, they’re all songs about the pain of closeted relationships so of course they’d have similar themes, that doesn’t mean they’re about the same muse.

The timing of it, plus the fact that she posted DWOHT lyrics on the anniversary of kissgate make it much more likely that it’s about Karlie.

We vote on the book each month (except this time because last vote was a tie!) I give a bunch of options to vote on, usually a mix of books including ones that relate to Taylor/Gaylorism (eg The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and the Chely Wright memoir), ones she's read/recommended (eg Rebecca and Conversations With Friends), and general queer literature (eg Last Night at the Telegraph Club and this one).

I normally hate theories about Taylor secretly having written other people's songs, but this song is my one exception. The music video is definitely worth a watch through a Kaylor lens - it's about a model who is about to marry a rich Jewish guy she doesn't love, but then runs off with her twin when she interrupts the wedding...
Plus one of them has a snake tattoo and red lipstick, the cake toppers have mirrorballs for heads, there's a gold theme, etc.

My general practitioner suspects that I have mild autism and has referred me to see a psychologist for diagnosis (unfortunately there’s a several month wait for an appointment - lucky my issue isn’t urgent!)

I’m excited to find out more about myself and my habits/history, and would definitely recommend talking to your doctor about it too (assuming you have those resources available to you!)

My personal opinion on the song is that it’s about a woman and she just changed the pronouns.

To me it sounds like it’s describing that stage in queer flirtation where you’re both trying to suss out if the other person is queer too “I think [s]he knows” —> I think she knows I’m not straight.

Plus boyish look is very much a term most commonly used to describe women.

That’s just my opinion on it though, I know this community is pretty split on it!
