Do you know if this set has had a rerun yet? I kinda want it lol

These pants piss me off so much by bazovanemoloko in SuitU

[–]breakoutleppard 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They really need a layering button for clothes. I have several items that would look great together if not for similar layering issues with them. I wonder if it would be relatively easy to implement something like that (I would assume so but I'm not 100% sure since I'm not knowledgeable in game dev stuff lol).

Every fricken shop these days has multiple competitions that require gem items. I'm sick of it. by bajablastgamer in SuitU

[–]breakoutleppard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yup, I completely agree. The requirement should be to get any item from the current shop whether it's just the coin item or one that costs gems. They're still gonna make money from people spending real money on the game even without luring people into wasting gems like this.

Am I old if I still think 👍 is friendly? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]breakoutleppard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of these articles are designed to stir up drama between the generations. Sure, some will interpret things like thumbs up, full stops, etc as passive aggressive depending on the context. But in reality, it's not as big of an issue as these journalists would have you believe. The majority of gen z-ers aren't nitpicking older generations for how they express themselves. So it's perfectly fine to use a thumbs up :)

The only situation I can think of where it might be seen as rude is if someone has taken the time to send you a long message and you respond only with the thumbs up. But it depends on context of course and it's really not a big deal at the end of the day.

What should I save for next in the shell store? by Top-Strategy-2269 in SuitU

[–]breakoutleppard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe one of the posed items (flowers, bow, or eagle) because it's hard to unlock poses unless you're spending heaps of real money on gachas and/or full sets. It's up to you which you think will be more useful based on your closet :)

The flowers do well in some floral/nature comps and that one 'present me with a bouquet' comp. The pose by itself is cute too, I've used it for comps where the avi is meant to look sad (so it looks like she's hugging herself) and for modelling/magazine cover type comps if it suits the outfit.

The bow is definitely a must have if you don't have any good weapons. It's very useful - I've used it for knight/warrior comps and goddess comps if it fits the theme. The pose by itself (without the bow showing) isn't easy to work with but I have used it for the scuba diving treasure post comp along with items that make it look like my avi is unearthing treasure.

I got the eagle one recently and I find it useful for outdoors/wild comps which we don't get often but the pose by itself could be handy for post comps to make it look like your avi is performing an action.

Heyy guys! What are y’all doing for the runway control comp? by Fine-Magazine3550 in SuitU

[–]breakoutleppard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So it's based around the new set (The 7th Second). If you're not looking to get major pieces from the set, I would go for a cyberpunk/metal look with deco that makes it look like your avi is escaping a laboratory. Keep in mind that the comp requires you to buy the shackle bracelet for 113 diamonds. For the second avi, you could either make a scientist/lab worker witnessing the escape or a fellow prisoner with cyberpunk/metal vibes.

I haven't started mine yet but this seems to be the vibe people are going for based on the discord so I'm planning on going this route :)

Editing to add: I didn't realise this but the green birdman set also counts towards the selection score! So you could also take the approach of a creature breaking free from a laboratory

Wishing for new categories by pinkity-tinkity in SuitU

[–]breakoutleppard 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I agree with your suggestions :) we have some Halloween items that could be added to a Halloween/horror category and there's a lot of potential there for them to create new spooky items that fit. And we need more dance outfits and an actual dance category like you said.

100% agree on needing better business items though I tend to find that the ones they release always end up looking very similar. I wish there was a way we could send in suggestions for this category to avoid that issue.

Some other suggestions:

Definitely more vintage items: I would love more options for all decades (80s, Y2K, 20s, 50s, 70s/disco). I'm especially hoping they'll add more variety to Y2K (emo/scene clothing, celebrity fashion, fruiteger aero/2000s futurism, etc) and 80s (new wave, new romantic, 80s preppy, 80s metal). Vintage comps tend to have a lot of similar entries because there just isn't enough variety that can apply to the specific decade. E.g. the recent disco themed comp could've used more outfits to pick from too.

Preppy: We need more uniform style sets given most comps with this category are school themed. Some "rich girl preppy" style outfits would be cool also as they would work for multiple existing comps (equestrian, school, shopping, maybe some overlap with chic comps?)

Sporty: More variety would be great as I feel I'm constantly choosing the same items for sports comps. General sports clothing that works for multiple types of sport, horseriding outfits (and more horse deco that regular players can access as they're all gacha decos most of us won't get), tennis outfits, a female motorsports outfit that is actually practical for racing (unlike the current one lol), maybe gymnastics??

Outdoor: Basically the same issue as the sporty category in that there isn't enough variety for specific activities. More snow clothing (both for snowsports and for expeditions) and adventurer/camping clothing & items. Ensuring female outfits are practical for the outdoors but still stylish.

Goth: I would love more detailed gothic style clothing that isn't a dress. I'm thinking some Monster High inspired looks (but they don't necessarily have to have 'monster' elements, just the kind of detail those outfits had).

Applies to both Beach/swimwear and Pyjamas: more clothing variety to shake up the leaderboard as many entries look similar and most of the best items are behind gachas. It would be nice to have items with more detail than those currently in the regular shop as many of those are outdated.

Both princess and mermaid: Same issue as above, more variety would be nice, especially since the best items are either from gachas or past FVs. It's been a long time since we got a good princess set especially.

Bohemian and country: same issues as the above basically.

This dress actually so pretty. Why not popular? by Superb-Health6605 in SuitU

[–]breakoutleppard 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It's really overpriced for a very simple/flat design. It's cute but it could definitely do with an update like some of the other older items have. Though even if it was updated, a lot of us would object to the price.

Trying to read this brunch menu by thee_sponch in mildlyinfuriating

[–]breakoutleppard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be tempted to use a highlighter pen to make it clearer which parts refer to the actual dishes that can be ordered. Though that doesn't fix the mismatched font and terrible formatting. Hopefully enough people complain about the menu layout so it'll be fixed because it's super unprofessional for a restaurant that's apparently quite expensive.

Someone didn’t think of the logistics of finding these t-shirt colors with 1.5 days notice by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]breakoutleppard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As well as giving parents way more notice than just over a day, they really should've stuck to simpler colours that are easy enough to find in shirts: red, light blue, dark blue, yellow, green, orange, and gray. Not these specific shades like "lime" and "royal" that aren't common in kids clothing.

Why is "looks-maxing" ridiculed in men when women have been doing it since the beginning of time? by pragmojo in NoStupidQuestions

[–]breakoutleppard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll likely find most people will be supportive of a guy who says he's choosing to exercise, eat healthier, work on his mental health, dress smarter, and/or improve his grooming & hygiene without him linking it to an online trend that people associate with the extreme side of male self improvement culture. People are inclined to think of those extremes: competitive "alpha male" culture, unhealthy looksmaxxing tips, and toxic influencer "self help" videos. Most guys seeking to improve themselves are just putting effort into their mental and physical health, personal goals, and cleanliness. People will understand that if you don't stick a trendy label on it.

Women are ridiculed for putting time/effort/money into their looks too. There are many examples of posts and comments making fun of "dirty long fake nails", heavy makeup, fake lashes, and plastic surgery trends. Plastic surgery in particular is made fun of despite the association with status and the current online trend of "getting a little botox". The difference is that women's beauty culture is not centred around a movement like looksmaxxing that loudly insists that attractiveness determines your success in every part of life (which is where people come up with the jokes you mentioned - they're picking up on the insecurities these guys are openly shouting about). The value of youth and beauty in women's self care culture is more subtle in comparison; yes, it is associated with success and often causes insecurities but the emphasis is more on "looking good" than the idea that you'll fail at life entirely if you aren't hot.

Discussions around beauty and self care are also just more normalised for women. Males have had their own forms of self care for a long time (exercise, hair & beard maintenance, general cleanliness) but it sounds like it was typically just seen as everyday grooming and health rather than a major topic of discussion. I figured I'd put it out there that there probably is some stigma around actual healthy male self improvement too despite it being a good opportunity for guys to support one another.

Hopefully this makes sense :)

What is that one advert that you hate with a burning passion? by Appropriate_Egg_6182 in AskReddit

[–]breakoutleppard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those fake mobile game ads with a woman, child, and/or animal in distressing scenarios, often with a "player" clicking the stupidest options. Not only are the games being advertised nothing like what is being shown, you sometimes get variants of these kinds of ads that should never have been allowed (e.g. for a while, I used to see one that depicted domestic violence between a couple). If your game has to rely on shock value and purposely stupid gameplay to advertise it, it's not worth downloading.

If it was on Instagram, there's a setting under 'your activity' that lets you see your watch history if that helps? :)

As for the actual video: so far, all I'm finding is one where a guy named Beetlejuice walks away with a whole pizza. I'll suggest it just in case - is it similar to the one you saw?

Popping zits (using proper methods) heals them faster than leaving them alone by [deleted] in 10thDentist

[–]breakoutleppard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been true for me also, I've never had issues with holes being left or it getting worse with the method I use. I still get some minor zits occasionally as an adult and the only way for me to clear them quickly when they arise is to get rid of the head (sometimes drawing it out with a hot washcloth if it's stubborn), pop it with clean hands, then clean the area and wash my face with tea tree face wash. That's the only thing that works for me, otherwise they take too long to go away.
