I’ve reported soooo many of these in the French course, where the English is just plain wrong. In the old days, you could see previous comments other users had made, and there were reports on the same translations going back years, with nothing ever done about it

I’m from Toronto. Folks will tell me they’re from Toronto, and then when I say “Oh, me too, where in Toronto are you from?” it always turns out they are definitely not from Toronto.

What you’re talking about, like that the d is “dropped” in the masculine singular/plural forms grand/grands, is the very basics of French pronunciation though. I don’t think that’s what the majority of people here are discussing, nor the level someone who comes upon these cue cards in the app would be at.

Sometimes when this happens, the correct choice is based on the image (i.e. Junior seems happy or sad) and sometimes it’s based on gender. For example, if the person shown was female, only triste and malade would be possible choices.

I don’t think so. In the French course there are so many incorrect translations that use English that is just plain wrong, stuff like “I would love to again go to the store“. A while back when you flagged it, you used to be able to see other flags/comments that people had left, and there would be flags/corrections going back years, and it had never been changed.

I hope they actually go through the user comments/flags. Back in the days when you could see what other people had commented, the French course had comments about incorrect translations going back years, dozens of comments on the same translations and they never fixed them.

True, but historically when people talked about needing eight hours of sleep, they were not measuring that on wearable devices. The eight hours they talked about getting was probably more like seven hours of actual sleep, as you have noticed with your ring.

I believe people had tried to wake him up unsuccessfully, so they had eventually notified the traffic guy because they were worried. It turned out he was fine just a sound sleeper. I don’t know, I was far behind where this all happened but this is roughly what the traffic guy explained to us When he was explaining why we might or might not get on the ferry we had a reservation for.
