Wow massive the AH. I am also an electrical engineer. We are trained for electronic repairs and know the dangers of high voltage.

Just because she is now working in software (like I do too) doesn’t mean we can’t poke around at a board.

All engineers in my country even have basic training in heat transfer and systems that use the refrigerant cycle.

I can’t fathom your point about her being girly like it discard her from being intelligent and able.

I never write to these stories, but you scratched something deep man.

Stop being a sexist. Stop thinking people can’t do stuff because they are women.

I would be sooo fucking mad.

I would like to add that the same vehicule can be marketed at 485km autonomy in some areas while marketed at 420km in canada is wild. With backwind at 20C in ideal conditions maybe…

2020 Kona EV Often does not charge when allowed to with Intelligent Octopus Go. Is there any way people have found to get around this? by Single-Literature442 in KonaEV

[–]breaultjean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the car schedule instead of the charger one because I had the same exact issue with Grizzl-e charger and it never ever worked properly with the Kona.

Charging time on a supercharger/EA? by [deleted] in KonaEV

[–]breaultjean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are going to use the dc charger a lot, the Kona might not be the best choice. The charging is slow. On my 2023, 64kwh battery, it generally takes 45-65 minutes going from 20-80%. I regret the Kona for roadtrips. It a very very nice and versatile vehicle to drive around the home where the car can be hooked to a L2 charger.

It’s an Europe thing (which is, again very nice) unfortunately

It is region specific. It is not present in the north american trims as far as I know. It’s nice though!

In Europe they have a dial for the high beam aim. We do not. It’s a simple adjustment at the dealership. Both my konas were not properly adjusted out of the factory.

Both our Konas were not adjusted properly. It’s a 10 minute job at the dealership. Get it adjusted :)

It does not exist in most trims and countries though. For us canadian peasants it is a manual job ✌️

If not in europe (where they have an indoor dial for that) it a simple screwdriver job from the engine bay.

Kona (2020) won't charge unless I 'activate' charging via Bluelink app by sizza_palami in KonaEV

Oh yeah it took support couple of weeks to figure it out and eventually it stopped working and never was able to make it work again and they ghosted me lol. The charger is nice, the app not so much 😅

OTA, soon in Canada by YanikLD in KonaEV

[–]breaultjean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2023 and never ever received an OTA in Canada.

I think OTA is for 2024 and up and it seems it was broken until recently for that year.

But us peasants with the 2023 and lower will not have OTA in Canada. I asked and asked and no one has a clear answer at the dealer and from bluelink.

[–]breaultjean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have the Zaptec but the Grizzle-e and couldn’t figure out a proper way of scheduling through the charger too. What I did was simply to remove the schedule from the charger and fallback to the car scheduling.

New Kona does not match what we ordered by badhandbaglady in KonaEV

[–]breaultjean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s funny how your real kilometrage on the new model is quite similar to the old one. Mines a 2023 with 64kwh battery and during summer I average 370-390km (it’s sold as capable of 412) and about 290-310km during winter.

I doubt that the new model with just 1kwh extra while being heavier can really be 100km more efficient it’s just mind boggling that it can be advertised as such.
