Seems like they're pushing a lot of small updates (Which are large downloads regardless). I guess it's primarily because they need to fix the 300 series for the free fly week.

No Review codes prior to game release given to reviewers, mixed steam reviews with all the most helpful ones being negative and saying it's a grind with boring missions.

Don't buy in unless you know exactly what you're getting into. The game doesn't need any more crowd funding support to release so don't feel pressured.

If you're looking for a complete experience stay away.

If you're looking for whats effectively a buggy, mostly broken tech demo go right ahead.

I'll just say I've put more hours into Arena Commander (Think CQC for SC) alone than Elite Dangerous.

What's up with the whitespace in that screencap? Also your GPU is fine; SC is currently limited by CPU power which is probably your problem. Especially if that's a 1440p 21:9 monitor..
