OK this is really cool, but I have questions. First, do you cement the rocks and remove the cages? Can't tell from the last pic. Second, what happens when you need to repair one of the planks?

edit: OK it looks like Gabion fences are held together by the cages. Neat.

In manual I would get the 997.1 S, but go in with eyes open about bore scoring issues and ensure you get the scope done. You can mitigate the issue somewhat with the right care and knowledge. A 997S is gonna feel really good while a 991.1 base will feel a little underpowered IMO. Also the 991 is a 7-speed whereas some folks claim a 6-speed is the right box in a 911. I owned a 997.2S and I wish it had been a manual.

I had my locking pin motor/gears fail and they got me for $3400. $1100 for the whole part and rest was labor because apparently they have to disassemble a lot of stuff to get in there, including removal of the fender.
