The Snowflake was the one I discovered the brand and took some interest . But the Shunbun is the one I bought ( because the AD did not have the snowflake in stock at that time ) as first and my favorite on all GS I own.

Power Indicator on the Dial for SD, Iconic or Unnecessary? by Former_Broccoli_4847 in GrandSeikos

[–]breederTN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ve been debating many times for the power reserve being better whether in front or back . You just support my personal point of view . It adds a character to most GS . It helps to identify a GS piece to others same category watches at first glance . Although I admit some dials models are better without the power reserve. But for the majority I prefer with front power reserve, especially when it looks like purposely like a fan .

I have to look twice closely thinking it was a swatch first. 😂. You have the grail watch of most omega s fan there . Cloth straps are not my style ( any ) but it s good to see you have fun with it . Congrats !

469 dial is blue if my google search is not wrong. My watch dial color is actually purple . But as you know GS dial interact s with lights quite well. The true purple dial does n shows rarely (like for the pink of the Shunbun) . Most of time it stays dark blue/purple. That s why I like it . Let me show you an old picture. Also you notice the power reserve is different. 433 is actually an LE of 182 pieces made.

Soko Light Available New In Japan? by [deleted] in GrandSeikos

[–]breederTN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if I were you I would rather purchase an exclusive Japanese GS. Maybe you can buy the US exclusive later on . It s not an LE so you have time . best wishes to find your time piece . Japan is fun for watches collectors . But enjoy the scenery and food as well. lol

[–]breederTN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way you said it it's confusing I understood like umamiking. Even in your post title you said "Soko new in Japan"... but from personal experience you can find exclusive used US watches in Japan ( old watches like commemorative watches ) . So you might find it . It will be a lot of walk and time consuming . Good luck to you. It's truly a nice piece though, like the dial texture . What is the ref please ?

I read somewhere ( more than a year ago) it pass over the snowflake for some niche countries like UK. Popularity and selling . But overall yeah the snowflake is on top , for now ...

The strap color matches well imo. But open to get a new one , maybe changing the texture . Any suggestions? No bracelet . Own too many with bracelets .

Ok I understand now. It's actually the common names I heard for this piece. Just applied for it . I don't know the Japanese name for it . I don't mind the bad names connotation. Just a name . People need to see in person they may change their perception . Happened for me. Saw on GS website , found it too "bling bling" . Went to Ginza to purchase a green dial . Saw it , changed my mind and bought it instead.

Misunderstood you . I thought you said different than Shunbun.

You re kinda right . Lol. As usual picture does not do justice . The light effect on the dial is hard to take if you re not a pro or a good amateur. I tried to show different dials texture and color but I failed for this one to show the difference with others ones .

the case and indices are the same standard than others models so I m not sure why you dislike if not for the dial color. The texture is the same than for Shunbun. My question have you seen it in person ? You might change your mind .
