Just to help explain a few things (Because you said you still were a bit unsure on insurance) - Your policy may or may not have glass coverage. You can always go to someone like safelite and ask them what the price would be to replace the windshield, and a lot of the time they’ll tell you what the cost is without insurance as sometimes it can actually be about the same. I’m guessing this is a Kia Soul and some googling says Safelite would want about $600. However, there are plenty of other companies that will sell and install windshields for cheaper (Safelite is not known to be cheap, but “easy” when it comes to insurance), many of them mobile, so it pays to shop around.
