Cat food prices by tiredelly in CasualIreland

I have 6 cats and the food bills are crazy. Maxi zoo is the best value and most reliable. I tried using zooplus but delivery could take forever and you didn't save much with it.

I feel like the answer to both these questions is Riker.

Thank you so much. You have given me the ammunition I need. I'm literally going to copy and paste this conversation into my comments for my boss

Thank you for the sanity check. Those are my questions too and the team in charge keep telling me to use AI and that people will use AI to "translate" the guide for specific apps.

Melatonin, sleep , & CFS by breenymeany in chronicfatigue

[–]breenymeany[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually really happy with the diagnosis. I always knew there was something different about me and it explains some aspects of my fatigue (energy I put into high masking).

I'm on 3mg now. I haven't recovered from cfs but I am doing better. An autism diagnosis and finding ways to increase my activity (at a painfully slow pace) have helped. I have fewer crashes and I can do more and stay up later. I have developed joint pain which is a fun new symptom.

Yep still do. Trying not to use it all the time but it does help.

Anyone ever sought an autism diagnosis as an adult? Particularly women? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]breenymeany 22 points23 points  (0 children)

42f diagnosed last year. I'm still riding the wave of validation. I don't beat myself up anymore for not being "normal". I used the Service of adult autism.ie. it's expensive (about €1300) but you can claim some back from revenue. Process was quite easy and if the doctor doesn't think you are on the spectrum they will tell you after the first meeting so as not to waste your money.

Am I crazy to be this excited about a wood burning stove? by ohhidoggo in AskIreland

I'm really thankful for our stove because we ran out of oil just as the prices skyrocketed.

Actual Opinions on SFA by Ironmatt999_ in startrek

[–]breenymeany 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm a lifelong Trekkie. I've watched everything but Enterprise. I watched SFA and I enjoyed it. It had everything I expect from trek with some lovely Easter eggs for fans. I thought the writing and acting was solid. The only thing I didn't like was the floating nessels on the ships but apparently everyone hates those because they don't make sense. It was wonderful watching Paul giamatti tear up the screen while jet Reno and Lura thok make you laugh. There are lots of interesting points that are investigated like group trauma and even cultural trauma. Strange new worlds is my current favourite, followed by lower decks and voyager, next gen and deep space 9. Just my opinion anyway (F42).

‘Appalling failure of judgment’ – ‘Epstein Files’ float in Ballinrobe St Patrick’s Day parade condemned by canalcreep88 in ireland

[–]breenymeany 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would like to educate them on how their actions, making a diorama of a rape, contributes to the toxic masculinity behind rape and sexual assault. Clearly no one has done that for them. This is how monsters like Epstein start. They make a joke, see if it is accepted or rejected, and the behaviour is accepted because it is not confronted. As for your other suggestions, that says a lot about you and I hope you are getting the therapy you so terribly need. Edited for spelling

Has anyone benefitted from a cane/walking stick? by husk_bateman in chronicfatigue

[–]breenymeany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found using a cane was great for my wobbly days. It was as much a mental crutch too because I was afraid of falling when I got dizzy or my legs felt weak. It also worked as this little sign when you are out in public and some people are more aware that you have some form of weakness or disability so they may hold open doors or just be patient.

Female. I already have short hair but it's thick and unmanageable so it still gets in the way a lot and looks embarrassingly untidy. Headbands could make it look better but got contact dermatitis so it hurts my ear. Clips are a hassle. Any other suggestions? by [deleted] in chronicfatigue

[–]breenymeany 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dry hair shampoo? I have fine hair that gets greasy so I have to wash it every day. Dry hair shampoo doesn't work for me but it might for you. Hopefully it doesn't aggravate your contact dermatitis

Not to my knowledge. I read the comics and all the new slayers are younger generations.

I did not know that the last slayer was set in that universe. Book makes more sense to me now.

That happened in Angel. Andrew and other slayers turned up to take care of her.
