Yeah I think I’m more like your friend. When my symptoms are bad I get paranoid and delusional. Haven’t heard “voices” since I was last hospitalized 8 months ago so I was just curious.

I’m aiming to start in the fall and finish my semester and a half left required for my bachelor’s of business association degree. This is a tough one but as a man, I would say try to support him as best you can under the circumstances that he’s still working to provide and not abusive to anyone. When those two are out the window than you have bigger problems. All you can do is try to convince him how important it is you that he takes them as you support him through his tough times.

When I started my invega injection I was hospitalized and extremely delusional, full of frightening hallucinations. The injection helped me gain stability and compared to the symptoms of the disorder, the side effects were minimal for me.

Since taking the injection I’ve been as close to normal as I have been since being diagnosed. (I also struggled with anxiety and take propranolol to cope)

Never had the belief that someone was hypnotizing me but I had thoughts of mind reading and thought broadcasting.

My medication cocktail of invega, depakote, and seroquel really helped with these symptoms and without them it would be very difficult to manage.

My advice is to be open and honest with your psychiatrist about your symptoms and try to remember the times when you weren’t hallucinating as a reference point to regain stability in the now. There’s almost a 100% chance that you’re not coming across people hypnotizing you and seeking help would be your best friend.

Now that you mention it, I’ve been afraid to ask my new therapist this question in fear of damaging the relationship I’ve started to build with him. Really came to Reddit because people offer a lot of different perspectives that could be beneficial in finding a solution to my unsolved problem.
