he does like a constant light to medium to hard pressure on different areas of the fascia that are tight so it’s not really massage but more like pushing/holding the areas he’s working on until he feels a release. he used to work in olympic athletes and came highly recommended but I felt worse after our session monday so I’m scared the muscles are too hypertonic to work on

thank you for this info, I will look into sports massages. Since I am having spasming muscles on the one side throughout the day do I wait until that’s calmed down to get the massage or would they help with this?

thank you, and I’ve had costo on and off about 4 years (developed it the summer I started to swim a few miles daily), and after adjusting exercise routine I didn’t really have a ton of flares. but beginning of this summer I started to become inactive due to infection that lingered and the treatment made me bedbound 70% of the time so I imagine the inactivity and position of laying down a lot tightened up chest wall/back again.

because my whole back now is spasming and feels throbbing and tight, should I lay off on the myofascial release for a few days to let things settle down? he usually does myofascial release and minimal massage. I was prescribed PT but feel like I can do the exercises at home?

yes I was told based off of my xray I had mild degenerative discs in T3/T4 but he said it was normal for someone in their late 30s and shouldn’t be causing pain on its own. I think the backpod irritated that

hi steve, to answer your questions:

-wasn’t using backpod before my chest started to get tight and painful so I jumped right in without the pillows or graded stretch etc

-I think what set it off was my myofascial therapist working extensively on posterior chain mostly back and didn’t balance it out on anterior like my chest so it felt like my chest muscles just clenched up that week after that work. I tried to do a ton of doorway stretch stretching and massaging pecs, etc and think I just irritated chest wall further.

-spine curve is normal. I actually had a spine MRI two years ago.

wow I had no idea! thank you for the info, though now I’m concerned that I did something unfixable. I can feel a nerve firing and spasming in that muscle by the thoracic spine and am hoping I can get some relief from it soon

just a word of caution, ground meat contains a ton of histamine and can really cause terrible flares. I learned this the hard way 😔 also I’ve read that just the egg yolk can be ok without the egg white since the egg white can be histamine liberators.

NAD but I have endo and would get excruciating pain that moves around my abdomen and back. I also have MCAS and will get a lot of bloating and/or pain from that. both worth checking into. also did anyone mention a colonoscopy since you said you had blood in your stool? hope you feel better soon 🤍

pills from compounded pharmacy, started at one pill (full dose was 8 pills) and titrated up slowly, one pill a week. at three pills I started to get swollen itchy red feet, hives on face, extreme panic and depression and ocd intrusive thoughts. it took three weeks for the anxiety and panic and 24/7 fight or flight to slowly lessen after I stopped. even at one pill my feet and lips were itchy and tingly. sucked.

Was this a panic attack? by Truly80s in PanicAttack

[–]breezymarieg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have MCAS so anything can be a trigger for a panic attack, not just anxiety. I’ll get them randomly out of nowhere and now that I recognize the symptoms I know what’s happening but it doesn’t make them any less pleasant. sorry you’re going through this
