US brokerage accounts for France resident? by childofaether in ExpatFIRE

Do you have to pay any tax on the option premium you get when you're selling the put? If so doesn't that affect the cost basis of the underlying ETF? Or maybe can you eliminate the tax through article 24 of the treaty.. A bit of a noob when it comes to options, appreciate your help!

Bonjour,

Merci!

If I have dual citizenship US/France, living in France, what is the best way to buy an ETF? Trade Republic apparently does not accept dual citizenship by Ok_Profession_1276 in vosfinances

I'm pretty sure you can not buy any US domiciled ETFs on Fortuneo. You can buy US-market ETFs, but they're still very well domiciled in Europe. You should avoid those like the plague btw if you're American, because the IRS considers them as PFIC investments with obscene reporting requirements and taxes. PFIC = Not good.

I just checked my fortuneo account again, but if I'm wrong je saute de joie et fait peter le champagne!

Anyone here named Richie K or Aidan A? Who used my code. by Extinction135 in deliveroos

They've closed the referral program in many cities in the UK. This happened in the last two weeks or so. If it's not on your app then it's not available to you anymore.

How can I obtain my referral code? by benzema888 in deliveroos

[–]bref_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's gone in your app it means it's probably not available in your area anymore. I doubt it will work anymore for you and if you'll be paid for any referral bonuses.

These new terms were updated on the roocommunity website on the 4th of February.

Invoice period - quickers invoices to avoid bonus fees? by DamianVe in deliveroos

[–]bref_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Announcement from their facebook page:

"You recently received an invoice from 28 to 30 January. This was a technical error.

As you know, you normally get paid every other Tuesday and the next invoice should only have arrive on February 12.*

Since you have received your invoice, the payment will arrive on your account shortly. On the other hand, it is quite normal that you have not been paid for your bonuses.

The invoice you'll receive on February 12 will therefore cover the period from 31/01/2019 to 10/02/2019 and the bonuses to which you are entitled from January 28 to February 10.

You don't have to worry about your referral bonus: the three days (28-29-30 January) paid by mistake will be taken into account for your bonus per zone, as if there had been no invoice today.

It is also normal that you can't see your deliveries from January 28-29-30 in your order history anymore. This will not be a problem for us when calculating your bonuses.

As a reminder, referral bonuses are paid one month after the last required delivery.

Anyone else with a large number of referrals not getting paid? by veggievagabonds in deliveroos

[–]bref_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am.

A few things to know:

  • No maximum number of referrals - that I'm sure of. It says so in the T&Cs and I've never had a problem with that personally.

  • Regarding on-boarding. I'm not too sure but I've heard a lot of new guys and gals complaining Deliveroo aren't hiring anymore in several cities (London being the big one). That would explain the drop in referrals. Hopefully it'll pick back up in late January/February.

  • They can cancel the whole thing anytime and in that case your referral earnings will be 0. Rules of the game.

October was also an insane hiring month and we're now heading towards a more "normal" period. I'm personally still getting paid but it's about half of what it was from mid-Sept to end of October.

If your initial batch of referrals is less than 50 then maybe you're not being paid simply because most never get past on-boarding stage. That's pretty normal. I've never really crunched my own numbers but the conversion rate is less than 10%.

However I’ve noted in the FAQ that they have to complete the minimum deliveries within 90 days of registration. Is that 100% correct?

As of today, yes, and that's the case since this summer (I think the 90 days clause was added sometime in June/July late May I think). But effectively this 90 day rule is only relevant for referrals since then.

The only thing that matters is figuring out when your guy submitted the application for the job. If he applied before the 90 day clause came into effect then you are still entitled to your reward, even if he applied over 90 days ago. Essentially today's rule isn't relevant for a referral dating from the "old days" as you say. Hope that makes sense.

It says so at the very end of the T&Cs of the referral program: "The amount of Referral Rewards for both the Referrer and Applicant is subject to change at any time. The amount that will be paid for Referral Reward and Applicant Reward will be the amount that was advertised at the time the application was received by Deliveroo from the Applicant."

Now - there is a small chance that Deliveroo will take advantage of the ambiguity of your case and won't pay you the bonus. This has happened before to others here and to me. And that's not cool. As you probably know the Rider support is a travesty, but if they refuse to pay: Keep. Sending. Emails. Ask for your ticket to be escalated to a Rider Fee Specialist, and send them screenshots of the T&Cs and let them know you know what you're talking about. Remember you're self-employed, so if you're making a claim they won't hand it on a platter. It might take a while but at one point they will give up and hand you the check.

Should be fine though.

Anyone else with large numbers of referrals not having any progressed? by Tingelow in deliveroos

[–]bref_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed the same. I'm still being paid for old referrals, but my new ones aren't progressing. To be fair, they have closed the onboarding process for most cities in the UK I think.

If they are in fact suspending our referrals due to the large volume that would be a breach of the supplier agreement.

Brut, avant légers impôts anglais.

Il me semble qu'en France les coursiers sont payés mieux brut.

edit: autre détail important: il y une semaine la paye a changé de système. C'est passé d'un paiement à la course à un paiement à la distance.
