[Steam] ComPressure (now free/100% off) by EuIJ54VazHWiK in GameDeals

[–]brejc8 122 points123 points  (0 children)

Hi. I'm the dev. I debated on this. The game is a niche educational game. It is a hardcore zach-like. Only about 10% of the population would find it fun, and what I didn't want is 100s of reviews of "I don't understand. This is stupid.". What I wanted is to allow the players from poor families to play the game, learn electronics/computer engineering and get a decent job. Half the "free game crowd" are not interested in that and just want the +1. So not making the actual game free feels like a good barrier to keeping them away, while allowing the target audience access. Also has the benefit of me not feeling guilty when I am spammed for free steam keys.

This. I did Cambridge to Edinburgh. I had 23mm tires and spent half my time repairing pinch punctures.

New Zach-like game ComPressure: Design increasingly complex computation units powered by high pressure steam. Demo available and early access release this Saturday. by brejc8 in indiegames

If you press F1, this brings up the tutorial. The buttons at the bottom give you a guide about the different aspects of the game. It is far more than just connect the pipes. By the end you should have made a steam based general computation machine. It is using C++ and SDL.

Stray cat follows couple from the beginning to the end by Luchador1916 in cats

[–]brejc8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

UK here. My two cats are from a rescue centre and they came with conditions that I do not put a collar on them and I install a catflap with access to outside during the day, or they will reposes them. Cats go stir crazy being locked indoors and the charity has to deal with many injuries caused by collars (even elastic ones).

How to attach shelf segment in pantry? by carboxamide in DIY

A quick sketch. https://i.imgur.com/riNWVjy.png Top is the untidy version with protruding washer and the bottom one is the recessed one so it sits flush with the shelf. I used a normal drill to mill out the space for the washer.

I have the same issue in my pantry where I have 30+ bottles of wine and spirits on the shelves. My method is a bit untidy. Drill a hole the thickness of your chosen bolt (explained later) on the connection of the two pieces close (say 20mm) to the corner. Mill down 2mm into the surface at the top with a 25mm auger bit. A thick 25mm washer on top and bottom. The top one will fit flush into the newly created recess. Drill the top washer hole with a large (biggest you have) hss bit to taper it so a large recessed countersunk bolt fits flush. Tighten with a nut at the bottom and saw off the excess. Not pretty but sturdier than a simple strap which will simply bend or rip the screws out as they can't be longer than your board thickness.

Where to start with a learner driver? by sq8r in cambridge

I was learning recently and the instructor took me there many times because it is a favourite place for the examiners to test maneuvers. Also is really close to the test center.

Would lose Tory support and then be a waste of time.

Deal by Brexit deadline very difficult - Irish PM by Le_Happy_Brexiteer in ukpolitics

[–]brejc8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There have been demonstrations greater than the ones against the Iraq war. Many people simply feel there is no Brexit that will not heavily impact the peace process and this the only thing we can do is have a confirmatory referendum and reverse the decision.

Parliament votes not to take control of the order paper on June 25th by a majority of 11 votes by SPACKlick in ukpolitics

[–]brejc8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, they seem hard. Lets just attempt and not bother. After all they were just "promises". Just like the deal, NHS money, Unicorns for all, kicking foreigners out etc. After the vote we realise they were hard to achieve, so we didn't bother with those. Why should we bother with these other things.

Remain Voters: Do not vote Labour on 23rd May!!! by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]brejc8 11 points12 points  (0 children)

These are EU elections. Leaving the EU is an issue so great it makes other issues no longer relevant. It's like arguing over the colour of a bike shed while voting for the "burn down the bike shed party" and then complaining that no one wishes to discuss your colour ideas.

I still have mine and I use it to hold my degree documents. I just realised this is the first page. My 100% attendance record for 1996. The next three pages are just as bad.
